I'll happily pay retail from a manufacturer's authorized service center to maintain an IP rating tho, if the phone's still good.

Well they release phones only one day a year and even when they release they cant keep up with a much better competition.
Noone buy phones as a status symbol.

You just can't buy iPhone anymore, you just can only see it in the shelves....not selling well, no brainer!! If it were not for US Ban on Huawei, Apple probably wouldn't have reached this far...

2.so they revenue made up is through increased price
of the phone
3.essentially offsetting the lower any of phones sold
4.Apple is no longer dependant on iPhone for profits,
since profits will continue to dwindle
5.No one wants to buy a 1500$ iPhone for every year or
2 years
6.People will hold on to their phones even longer, which
is troubling for Apple
7.The Chinese are relentless in their pursuit of market
share, this will continue to erode dominance of Apple
premium market share
8.Apple will be forced to step down their price gauging
phones and will be forced to turn down costs, teue to
extreme competeion in EU
9.In recent reeseach 26.4 percent people who owned
iPhones are looking forward to some other brand for
upgrade, once again iCult has finally woke
10. Expect further deteriorating Apple profits, force
them to rely more in Apple services like Apple+, Apple
steaming and other Sheep slaughtering schemes.

Am an Android user but you Android fanboys are a joke..Apple clearly only targets the premium market and nothing is changing about that and they sell more than any brand in that segment too,so if you can't afford it go buy some crappy cheap Xiaomi then..your choice.

Apple is selling less phones but is still making money because it's phones are more expensive.
They are now selling essentially the same phone for years while increasing already too high price so in the future even less people will be buying.
From design to features... I used an iPhone as my previous phone and I bought S10e because it beats anything Apple offers feature-wise, for way lover price.
I would lose my self respect if I paid around 900 Euros for a phone (which is price of XR in my country), and especially since it offers almoust nothing for the price. S10e ironically cost me less than 450 Euros which is half of XR price, and I even get more storage. That was a no-brainer for me, so I decided not to be an iDiot and go back to Android.

I'm not surprised this is was expected. The iPhone will come back when they remove the notch, enhance night photos, introduce a full-screen fingerprint reader and introduce usb-c.
