I sincerely hope that Huawei increase the bit rate during 4K & Full HD video capture. On the P30 Pro - Photo quality is great, but video quality is pretty bad... Then again Huawei have never been any good at implementing class leading video on any of their phones... But seriously they need to bumb up the encoding bit rate to at least 60 Mbps in 4K and about 30 Mbps in Full HD - for ultimate detail capture. Night time, low light video quality seriously needs to improve as well... especially the autofocus.

V20 was a great phone with strong cinematography capabilities. But, based on the year where it took off fastly, I think Sony who's bringing the wind much stronger to the market, especially Xperia 1 was targeted at people who do cinematography and video-capturing. Just a thought, nothing else.

I believe Mate series this year will drastically upgrades on its camera as well because of the ban issue, trying to push boundaries more for a statement.
And glad finally there are companies using 1/1.5" inch sensor, last good thing about it is Lumia 1020. And i'm excited about the Cine Lens feature.

While it's definitely possible for Mate 30 Pro to feature the 40MP sensor behind the ultra wide angle lens, a 1/1.5 inch main sensor sounds too good to be true. Huawei never introduced a massive hardware revamp for the camera in Mate and always kept it for P series.
Wide F1.4 aperture also means the lens will suffer from stronger aberrations hence it captures less details. It's pretty obvious if you look at the image samples from Honor 20 Pro, the only smartphone that features F1.4 lens in the market right now - detail wise it's a noticeable downgrade from Honor View 20 which features the same sensor but also comes with narrower F1.8 lens.
