A monopoly is a bad thing, period.

FullmetalJun, 03 Aug 2019It's not Google's fault that it's done a better job than al... moreThat's literally not the case, there are search engines far more advanced than google search engine but nobody heard of you know why? bcz google killed most by throwing them in the shadows by controlling one of the most used platforms which is android, and just a heads-up google doesn't make android (android and google are both independent in their own way but google is made and owned by Alphabet while android is only owned by Alphabet)

FullmetalJun, 03 Aug 2019I'll still choose Google & I don't do anything interest... moreI dont use google. Apart from data insecurity, they filter too many results now. You cant even search a keygen or a crack using google these days as most of such sites are removed from their searches.

Google is just the fastest & most accurate search engine.
This is how EU lost its innovative attitude. They hinder the ones who excel.
It's similar to someone getting an A+ in class where everybody else are scoring B or lower & then he gets a detention for being the topper.

I'll still choose Google & I don't do anything interesting enough that I have to worry about my online data.
Google makes Android. So it's only fair for them to include their own search engines as default which u can change later.
So these not so popular search providers get free advertisement & brand placement on rival products for free. Just wow! Maybe it's the EU commission which is corrupted & will probably get a percentage from the data the other search providers will sell.

I read about search providers' apps, which you are free to install, but what about the search bar on the Android front screen? That is the one that matters most. Will I be able to configure that one, or remove it?

Wait, so Google will be shown in the ballot screen by default whereas others should fight for the remaining places? Also, the bidding money goes to Google? Aren't they still abusing their power? More fines ahead imo.

                        1. Google had to pay Apple to have their search on iOS.
                        2. Search providers pay Google to have their search on Google certified devices.
                        - Provider get their search on home page
                        - Provider get search on Chrome

Providers only have to pay on Google certified devices. Providers are free to make their own Android devices if they don't want to pay Google.

There's nothing stopping search providers telling their users to install their apps from the Play store.

Google is spying on you, yes. Every Android phone is tracking device equipped with spyware. And USA is spying on you, if you use Chinese Andoid phone, then China is spying on you aswell.

If you use an iPhone - you are not really safe either. They still collect your data, it won't be as widley available as with Android, but it is still there.

If you want something to really stay secret - keep it off from the Internet.

They already have a browser app based on an older version of Chrome.

I would definitely go for yahoo!
The company got hacked twice, and openly shares your info with 200+ ad companies, one of them is Google.
Yahoo gives you the option to opt out by visiting almost each one of those one by one and opting out there. Quite convinient and thoughtful

Need to break down alphabet to smaller companies. Same with fb

This is a perfect example of greed from big companies like Google,MS,Apple.Laws are made to make them not being monopoly... and look what happens, even then they try to find a way to squeeze every last $$ they can out of everyone, what a shameless decision, seriously. They have to be sued for trillions of $$ .
