Which is why this Tab is the real revolution. It runs Ubuntu for Pros (at less than 1 pound!) and android for casuals (I.e. Microsoft word, phtoshops, etc, anything the casuals would use).
Only issue is that I runs on 8GB of ram. I have workloads that require at least 10 GB before slowing down to a crawl. A missed opportunity for Samsung espec as Note phone *has* 12 Gigs.
Hope the Korean version would be the real tab s6 (a bit of how Korean Tab S4 was the real tab s4). I.e. 12 gigs of ram + 1TB of ultra fast storage...

A lot of people need time to understand how much more useful a tablet can be than a pc. The only reason to still like my pc is for the experience it offers but the fact is that I do everything on my iPad. I haven’t composed a document or done a presentation on my pc for several years. When my pc breaks I will not get a new one. It’s nice the retro experience and retro programs a pc offers but the truth is it’s useless.

My thicc ugly laptop will outlive these s... moreYou don't need repairable parts if nothing needs repair. I am still rocking my Note 2014 tab. Only need to swap battery (twice) everything is as good as new. The wonders of using low wattage chips.
Your laptop is thic for a reason. It needs way too much cooling space, it has moving parts and of course it can't outlive anything without moving parts.
All I retreat about this new Samsung tab is the low ram. IMO 12GB + 1TB EMMC would be perfect for work. Modern flash is as fast as SSDs practically, plug fast ram and a SoC better than low end laptop soc (akin to mod range) it would be great for $800.
Even w 8GB and 256GB is still good enough. But yeah, eventually Intel won't be able to compete with those slimdevils...

Lol, note that has absolutely no use of it has 12gb of ram. This tab that is basically a laptop (Linux on Dex I.e. Ubuntu on ARM) tops out at 8GB. Samsung logic...

Except due to running ARM it will have better battery, would be muuuch more portable, oh and it will turn into a tablet when you need to consume content.
After this and the new iPad, laptops would increasingly become the past. Already Ubuntu ARM does most of anything I need on the go (I am a developer) and for casual ipadOS is enough too (for laptop use)...

This one runs Ubuntu+Android (both better at their respective field than anything Microsoft), has better soc, is lighter, cheaper, battery probably lasts more (due to ARM). It is not 2014 anymore, surface pro is the past...

What do you mean by the performance gap is negligible? We don't know how powerful the Adreno 680 is compared to Adreno 640.

There is HUGE Market for extremely powerful SoCs for tablets (like the Apple A12x). If Samsung can capture that market, it has winner.

Best tablet or not for that price anyone can buy a decent laptop which is a lot better in my opinion.
Or some kind of a very large phone such as A70 with 6,7 inch screen.
