Baykko, 06 Aug 2019Why are so many Americans so freaking paranoid about China ... moreIndeed. Couldnt have said it better. Somehow its all so good to give every piece of your information to USA, but so wrong to when its China.

So the first application of HongMeng OS would be related to IoT. I would love to see how their own OS stacks up against Android.

I hope they would do a better job than Samsung's attempt with Tizen.

Anonymous, 06 Aug 2019even phone memory is 1000tb but dedicated memory card slot ... moreAgree 100%

BigDisplay, 05 Aug 2019Lol, not, a phone is more then just the memory card. Thats... moreeven phone memory is 1000tb but dedicated memory card slot compulsory, A50 is too much over price against its spec. Compare Samsung, Huawei, Oppo, Realme and other brands you will find great phone against samsung, again I say Samsung is very very over price

Copy the cat, 06 Aug 2019Dead on arrival for sure...show off a lot lolIn Europe it might not be popular, how ever in Asia it might take over rather quickly if China forces its phone makers to use it and the entire Android eco-system will end up fragmented! We are gonna have to see tough at worst it might end up as a China exclusive and will only be sold in China on the other hand it might be very popular and ending up as the 2nd biggest OS pushing iOS to a third place...

You think H... moreNo I suspect they did what Blackberry did with BB10 they just added a android run-time into its library, this lets it run Android apps run just fine and they can have full control over the rest! The kernel is maybe not even a Linux one for all we know and might be completely alien in design if they built it from scratch tough its more likely that they used the Linux kernel than the Android AOSP...

A OS without Google spy-ware? Sign me up! :D

Anonymous, 06 Aug 2019If it's based on Android it isn't a real OS and if it's a n... moreOf course it is based on asop which is Android. You think Huawei make the os from ground up hahaha it takes years and support from app developers. Without app support it is a failure no matter what or how you look at it even big guy Microsoft with ton of money has failed big time.

HongMeng what? Next Xiaomi will come up with RedRice OS hahahaa

Anonymous, 05 Aug 2019The question is ban left?!.They withdrew the ban. But Huawei is still just throwing out random info.

You can't believe anything they claim anymore, at least not until you check first.

They got busted lying about benchmarks, got busted using DSLR shots as their apparent phone camera samples multiple times... they claimed to beat Apple's A12 chipset and just disappeared when they provenly failed to do so. They claimed to have first 7nm chipset on the market - Apple has been selling it for months before they even introduced their product. Now they said Hongmeng will be out soon. Then they said it was never even meant for that purpose. Now they again claim it'll be out soon... and oh yeah - they also claim they are not spying on you and selling your data. It might be true, but it just might not... but everyone is spying on you so it's up to you how much that even matters to you.

Copy the cat, 06 Aug 2019Dead on arrival for sure...show off a lot lolWith Chinese patriotism (well yeah, sort of), it might be able to gain some momentum. They got 20% world population on hand, they can do almost anything with that much headcount. And don't forget, SEA is heavily under their influence.

Dead on arrival for sure...show off a lot lol

Anonymous, 06 Aug 2019Benchmarks are still the most reliable source to compare pe... moreI wouldn'tl say benchmarks are the most reliable way
It's just a way to compare devices on an "even" field
But actual feeling while using the device can vary and don't really depend on the benchmaks results

Anonymous, 06 Aug 2019If it's based on Android it isn't a real OS and if it's a n... moreYh but Android didn't get all those apps fom the start or by using some kind of magic
                                        It takes time
I guess we just have to wait and see it before having such opinions on it
