The Redmi Note 8 could be the competitor to both Honor 9X and RealMe X. Sure there's K20/Mi9T but that's in a higher price tier so the upcoming Redmi Note 8 could be the proper alternative and a bestseller if done right.

            Let me guess.

            - again a rear-camera without OIS
            - again a front camera with a gazillion Megapixels and fixed focus
            - again SOC which has just not enough oomph
            - coupled with a ridiculous amount of RAM
            - and a battery which just isn't enough
            - either a blueish LCD or a reddish AMOLed
            - Low-res screen but BIG (+7")

And to top it off ads, ads and ads.

Yeps, exactly what we want. More of the same crap that we have today!

I also predict that for 2020 there will be a Note 8, Note 8 plus, Note 8 Pro, Note 8 Lite, Note 8 SE, Note 8 LE and perhaps a Note 8T ;-)

It isn't able to... moreFair point about 710 handling the camera, but I'm still keeping fingers crossed for some snapdragon CPU (albeit weaker one), even if it had worse performance and battery life than MediaTek G90T. The reason is simple - GCam. When you look at comparison of Note 7's photos on stock and Gcam, the difference is day and night.

I imagine they'd lose a fair ammount of consumers if they went for the MediaTek for Note 7, since their fans are used to some standard.

"stronger than the next door" He is talking about RealMe or Asus Max M-series yes?
Redmi who are resting their laurel, slowing the update significance and now forced to compete again.

Redmi Note 7 use SD660 or SD675 in Pro which actually not bad, its just their neighbor Realme 3 Pro uses SD710.
Redmi Note 7 uses 48mp sensor while RealMe 3 pro uses flagship (One+'s) 16mp sensor
Redmi Note uses 12/13 mp selfiecam while RealMe 3 pro uses 25mp selfiecam
And they both have, 4000mAh battery and 3.5 jack.

UI aside (i haven't have the chance to use RealMe), RealMe is winning by a little margin.
Redmi Note 8 needs to be awesome to "Destr*y their neighbour".

As G90T seems to perform better than SD730G but use a 12nm process, a bigger battery would be a great Idea to keep a good autonomy in gaming...at least 4500.

CompactPhones5ever, 05 Aug 2019Anyway my guess: 1) CPU - Snapdragon 710. The thing with... more64MP camera on Snapdragon 710...no sense!
It isn't able to handle it properly...
When Qualcomm say 192MP on SD710, it's without noise reduction and without zero shutter delay...
Helio G90T can handle that kind of features.
It's allready strange to see 48MP on Snapdragon 710/730, but even if zero shutter delay isn't available, at least noise reduction is there

                                      Plus :
Xiaomi India's boss said Xiaomi will use Helio G90T very soon
Redmi's boss repeat they will use G90T very soon on Redmi and will be available worldwide.

You will get better performances than Snapdragon 730G (CPU/GPU/RAM/AI).
Plus dual network (wifi/wifi or wifi/lte) with very low latency swapping in case of bad network (lower than SD855).
Plus low latency CPU (lower than SD855)
If it is available worldwide, you will get Kernel sources...

There's one sad thing...it is 12nm. In my opinion, they should use 10nm instead.

Anonymous, 05 Aug 2019Hopefully they will launch globally asap after China launch... moreThey most probably won't launch it soon after China anywhere. Because they never do. Actually because they can't.

They need at least 200K unit per week in China at the first month, then they need ramp up the production. India probably need much as China.

They don't keep inventory. They sell their phones at batches whenever contract manufacturers make them enough. That's one of the way they keep prices low.

For example at their respective launches usually first quarter of the year Samsung and Xiaomi launches their flagships with latest Snapdragon flagship chipsets. When Samsung launches it's available across the globe at day one. To do that they need to manufacture them at millions at least a couple of months beforehand.

Xiaomi on the other hand sells them at around 200K units per week in ONLY China for months. India doesn't get the flagships usually.
