Pine, 06 Aug 2019OH go away and take these dumb iDevices away...whats new in... moreRemember touch ID? it wasn't new tech or first fingerprint scanner, was it lot better than anything else in the market? it definitely was and set new standard for fingerprint scanners which android OEMs tried to copy and failed miserably for few years. Remember how touch ID worked from every angle? same time later when Samsung had fps you had to swipe it over the scanner from one angle.

Getting my point? you need to be fool if you think this tech will be the same what currently in the market. Apple would never implement current underscreen fps tech because it's very bad.

Your comment shows that you haven't used face ID. it's not about the speed (and still face ID is very fast too) Face ID is lot more than unlocking your phone. Face ID is your invisible lock. The more locked/security apps you use the better and effortless it gets.

For example i have locked my whatsapp under the face ID. it means no-one can't use my whatsapp or see my messages, but when i use it, it just opens like it's not even locked. The more apps and features you use which have this function the better face ID is.

Same with banking app, i just open the app without need to use my finger. automatic password fills in safari etc.

This is why Apple have face ID over the fingerprint scanner and did same for iPad.

For some reason android users thinks fps or face ID isn't anything else than for unlocking your device, but in reality it does lot more and if we think future, we propably going to have lot more stuff locked just for us, because who wouldn't want to keep their stuff private.

Fro... moreI have no problem paying $1/$3 a month for extra icloud storage and most of the apps I use are free. if you are in their ecosystem its a very good experience that android can't provide. ios is way smoother with a 3/4 year old phone than android.

but it surely depends on the preference. I am not a teenager who wants to show his new phone with cool features. I want a phone that would do its job (strong wifi and network signals, mail check, few social networking, decent camera, good if not great battery life, good music quality, better online security, good sound with voice call) while last longer with less trouble. I am sure despite some tech savvy guys, most of the common people would want the same thing. ios is pretty restrictive but iphones check most of the boxes with better than good/average points.

Finally, Apple is going to do this. Now that Jony Ive is directly gone from Apple, I think it's time to get the Headphone Jack complete with a QuadDAC.

AverageUser, 06 Aug 2019Fingerprint scanner was and is way faster than any iris sca... moreBut you can't unlock with dirty or wet fingers and ultrasonic are just too slow and often fail to recognize and in cold chilly night you would have to take your gloves off and you don't have to adjust phone position with FaceID either just bring it to your face and less than a second and it unlocks, I'm not saying FaceID is better than Fingerprint but indeed I would prefer a notch with FaceID over bezel less phoneunoess FaceID moves under screen or on a pop up mechanism

Anonymous, 06 Aug 2019"Good luck with your iPhone X for 4 years..." Thanks, i ... moreThat is exactly my point. Exactly what I said.

Apple will milk some of your money every year for battery replacement if you want your iPhone X to stay as fast as it can be.

And if you need to find something and you have no signal or you don't have unlimited data plan - well, sorry buddy... also about apps and app data consuming space... I guess you'll be able to deal with it? Also if you use iCloud I guess you're cool with paying Apple regulary to have more storage?
So in 4 years you pay for cloud and battery replacement about as much as you'd pay a decent new phone.

I see both, people with all Android flagships and people with old iPhones. Interestingly enough people with old Android flagships usually have less complaints on their phone.

From 10 of your closest person, how many of them still use phone they bought >4yr ago as main phone? Honestly, I got one here, and he got feature phone
