Well Done Samsung. Keep it up.

Anders, 07 Aug 2019All phones should be sold without a network lock. It's ridi... moreBut that's how Carrier grab the customers, force them to use their service by choking and tempt them a great deal of new phone. Phone manufactures also win since they will ship millions phone to to the Carrier. End users also win by having a cheaper phone than the one on the retail shop + they get great deal of bonus data plan.

these phones cost almost $1000 and you think more than 3 years of support warrant 'commendable' instead of 'minimum expected'? no wonder people got tired of these phone companies bs

        security updates are useless,so whatever

All phones should be sold without a network lock. It's ridiculous that this still goes on. Linus Tech Tips said he bought his S10 unlocked then when he put his carrier SIM in, it locked the phone to that network

Nice to see big companies like Samsung and Huawei giving updates even to 3-4 year old phones.. so why settle for less and buy a Sony, LG or HTC phone ??

It seems that Samsung has been listening to the customers latley. If the A5 2016/17 are still updated regulary - why not S7 too?

Samsung used to be notorious for laggy and bad UI and they really changed it for the better. Their One UI is one of the fastest, most stable and fluid UI's.
They were also known for not showing too much love for people with older devices, and latley we've seen even those with old budget or midrange devices getting updates. Good job, Samsung.

That problem was solved on recent releases (since S8). The unlocked model has received monthly updates so far (with the odd missed month but that's like the carrier-branded S8 too) according to this http://doc.samsungmobile.com/SM-G950U1/XAA/doc.html
Otherwise it's cool they changed their mind on the S7. It was weird to see the A5 2016 still on Quarterly with the S7 on who-knows-when.

Ok, this is different... maybe Samsung might even do more updates than other manufactures?

What about the international unlocked Exynos models?
