Redmyth79, 10 Aug 2019Glad to see somebody besides myself know that 4k on a cellp... moreExactly this 4K started with Z5 Premium series by Sony.
Well switching to 4K drained 100% battery in 42 minutes at casual usage with average brightness.
So maybe batteries improved a little and the CPU requies bit less power but still watching a 4K video or having screen set to 4K still drains your battery withing 90 minutes from full charge to zero.
And there was a topic i thing LG is going to make an 8K screen phone.
So the 90 minutes will went into maybe 40 again.
What to say stupid people making impossible technologies possible but just to find out even a possible technology is complete useless.
Like when people created diet water because the plain one from our households had too much calories.

Kyaw Zin Thant, 08 Aug 2019I know SD855, what is SD855+It's just a overclocked 855. So it runs a little faster on both the CPU and GPU. The GPU is actually a 15% increase to my understanding as the chip was focused more for the gaming crowd.
Either way they are both extremely fast.

On a big 60 inch screen it makes the difference but watching a 4K video on a 6 inch phone screen compared to wathing HD or in other words 720p video on same 6 inch screen makes zero difference.
Only a very few individuals have such a good eyes to spot the difference for any basic user it will be same.
Unless you use 42 or bigger inch TV plasma LCD, LED, OLED, Microled technology it wont make much dofferences.

With good image stabilisation it is not possible to compare these two, not saying if you are watching it then on bigscreen 4K TV.

AnonD-731363, 07 Aug 2019Even for something like $650 it still lacks SD slot, IP rat... moreOh boy, so much wrong in here. Let's go at it:

"Who needs SD slot in a 64GB or more. Also tons of cloud storage to use."

I do. I currently have 128GB on my phone and it's way too little and I'd upgrade it with an SD card if my phone supported them. 64GB is very little apart from the most casual users. Even for average person 64GB is hardly enough for photos and videos they make. As for cloud: I have a 25GB plan yet I still rely a lot on offline storage. Remember that you also lose a lot of battery if you constantly send data over cellular in addition to having to pay for a larger plan, offline storage is still extremely important. That and the latency of a local storage and cloud storage is not even comparable.

"IP rating is useless no warranty cover water damage so IP rating is just expensive gimmick useless to have. Its working only against plain water- Salt water like sea or chloride water in pool will damage your phone instantly. Such a waste of feature to pay for. "

First of all it's not expensive, the rubber flaps and design changes to accommodate them are a drop in the ocean compare to other R&D costs. Actual certification costs maybe several thousand $. The reason companies like OnePlus don't get IP ratings because they wouldn't get IP68 but something lower even though they do include water-resistant rubber flaps in their phones. But marketing decided it's better to lie to people saying IP certification is expensive instead of having lower rating than competition has. You are a proof that people eat up these lies easily.

"Gorrila 6 for what??? Any panzerglass bought for 2-5 euros would do. Waste of money."

Extra glass on top helps with scratches but not drops. GG6 is more drop resistant than earlier ones so it's nice to have. But the changes from GG5 to GG6 are rather incremental so you're not exactly wrong either.

"Stereo speakers is nice to have but if you use mostly earphones or earplugs stereo speakers doesnt matter and Mono speaker is good enough."

This is an opinion. I also think stereo speakers are useless but some people find them useful. This is a matter of preference.

"HDR10 recording is nice to have but again higher quality video cost much more space and in this case is just not important. Any 720p will do. Anything over it is just useless gimmick thus my honest opinion."

Are you serious? If 720p is good enough for you your eyesight must be terrible because the difference is clear as a day. I personally download movies in 4K for my phone so that I get a higher bitrate than the 1080p version so even if my phone's display can't display all the pixels I still get a better quality due to higher bitrate. Same reason why Blu Ray 4K movies look amazing because of insane bitrates (~90Mbps) while Netflix 4K artifacts terribly due to its pitiful 25Mbps bitrate, despite the same resolution Netflix 4K is just garbage.

"And USB 3.1 is also nice to have but with 45W charger it really doesnt matter.
If i transfer 10GB of files from phone to PC in 5 minutes or 5 minutes and 30 seconds it makes no difference.
And With 45W charging if my phone gets charged in 40 minutes or 45 with USB 2.0 it also makes no difference."

First of all transfer speed is variable but its definitely is not "5:30" for USB 3.1 and "5:00" - it's painfully clear that you've never used a device that has a USB 3.1 port and can fully saturate it. Second of all, USB 3.0 is a requisite for screen mirroring you doofus so it has used beyond transferring files. Third of all charge speed has nothing to do with USB version, it all depends on flat wattage and battery chemistry. Your entire point here is intentionally misleading and flat out false.

It's true that Xiaomi devices are great value and that Samsung definitely has larger margins but that doesn't mean there's no place for premium devices. The sad thing is all you've written is an opinion that you're trying to spin as a fact mixed in with false information. Having an opinion is fine but please don't spread misinformation.

Can we please stop calling calling QHD 2K? 1080p is 2K.

QHD is pretty straightforward: QHD -> QuadHD -> 4x as many pixels as in HD meaning 2x as many vertical pixels -> 2 x (720p) -> 1440p vertical resolution. "K" nomenclature is shaky and only refers to a particular aspect ratio. 4K is called 4K because there are roughly (3840) 4000 horizontal pixels in 16:9 aspect ratio. 1080p is 2K because there are roughly (1920) 2000 horizontal pixels. If anything, QHD should be called 2.5K since there are roughly (2560) 2500 horizontal pixels. But with aspect ratio different than 16:9, like most new phones have, you can throw this out of the window. Suddenly 19.5:9 1080p is closer to 2.5K in horizontal pixels and even 18:9 1440p is almost 3K in horizontal pixel count.

We already have a good system for this: 720p, 1080p, 1440p, 2160p aka referring to vertical resolution. Alternatively use HD, FullHD, QuadHD, UltraHD if the numbers are a mouthful. Even referring to resolutions as megapixels would be better: 2 Mpx, 3Mpx, 8Mpx - it's straightforward and illustrates the difference in data carried by content in this resolution.

I blame it on shitty marketing constantly looking for new buzzwords since it's easier instead of taking time to create commercials that aren't a chore to watch.

Man you want pieces of crap which makes no difference apart from rising the cost of device. But paying 200 more bucks for something which can be replaced by 2-5 euros things like gorrila 6 or panzerglass just waste of money.

Xiaomi is famous for low cost devices with avesome specs and quality. They should stay this way.

Samsung Note 10 cost a fortune but same phone made with Xiaomi sticker on it would cost not more than 700 because xiaomi dont robs you like the other companies would do.
