As as i said too, not all have the knowledge and time to know all these stuff. So no point imposing it to the manufacturer as if its a must for all these "technically challenged" ppl.

Using a locked bootloader phone with all Google services on board is more of a risk that I can't take.

As I said, its not for the technically challenged.

Anonymous, 14 Aug 2019So you know exactly what's in these cooked roms and whatnot... moreSays the guy who never visited xda.
Developers have a reputation to uphold.
Also their chances of working for a company in the future increases with their work being laid out there.

As I said, technically challenged people should keep their phones locked. Manufacturers have no excuse for not giving the consumers an option. All companies give that option. Huawei doesn't.

You simply have no clue about the positive things about having an unlocked bootloader. People like you are unsafe from everything even with locked bootloaders. Heck you can make settings in Android which will stop more than half the spying even on a locked bootloader but I bet you have no clue how to do that.

Anonymous, 14 Aug 2019Why not? Other manufacturers are more than happy to let use... moreIt is just the wants of the minority group. Besides I heard it's risky. Not 100% of smartphone users are techie to know all this stuff.

You know exactly what you're doing ? So you've designed , coded ,complied, tested the software yourself? Or you're just using pre designed software from a developer?

You talk like you're gaining an whole new experience when unlocking your phone when all you're doing is opening it up to more attacks, I mean if you don't use your phone for banking , data sensitive emails, etc then I'm sure you're fine, but the average person wanting to use it as a phone , pda, route finder etc then unlocking is pointless

We don't want Android to end up like Apple.

Besides, Why should manufacturers focus on this minority?

Unlocking bootloader doesn't void warranty. If you want to claim warranty you can unroot it back.

Manufacturers don't get to lock our phones. It's supposed to be Android which is synonymous with freedom of choice. The entire developer community over at xda is against Huawei locking bootloaders.

Technically challenged people can keep things locked.

For a warranty safe and everythng else bootloader should be always locked and prohibited to go in and do a changes.
I dont even know who started this idea and why but any custom roms should be banned from use. Just for security reasons for not voiding your warranty and so on.

Voiding warranty and instaling custom bloatware should be always prohibited.
