In such kind of scenario your sensitive information On whatsapp is vulnerable so keeping all this in mind A good Fingerprint locking feature is is good to have...
Even though you can turn off when you want to..

When i get to my phone i dont want this kind of extra security to unlock every ap jusst for using it.
It takes another time.
Some of my customers are lazy even to type pin code after restarting phone or turning it on when was off durring night to preserve battery.

Once i ubnlock my phone everything should be immediately available and not type or use any kind of password for extra use.
This is like collar on neck.

It would be pain to use these with fingerprint scanner, tens of extra times pushing that scanner everyday.

Then android security have HUGE security flaw. But luckily i'm sure that won't be the case. You are wrong about what you are saying and i'm very sure about that.
There's no data in whatsapp, the data is on your device where your fingerprint is stored and it compares your fingerprint to that. You don't leave any data for whatsapp. That would be horrible! That would mean everytime when you use some app which needs fingerprint you give your fingerprint for them. Not happening.
Think it for a second, you install some app from play store which for example hides your personal stuff behind your fps, you start using it and you think you give your fingerprint to them? Play store wouldn't have any apps like that available if that's true because no-one could monitor are the apps real or just want to steal your fingerprint. Like i said that would be huge security risk.

As usual, features that have existed in Android custom ROMs and skins from Xiaomi/Huawei/Samsung finally make it to mainstream apps and therefore, stock Android. I still don't understand the clamour for stock Android. MIUI/EMUI and some others have offered an App-Lock feature as standard. The only alternative available for stock Android was third party apps that were never as seamless and would always push ads. Which again makes me wonder why people complain about ads on MIUI or other skins (that can be turned off), when third party apps on stock Android push ads in the most ridiculous ways conceivable with users having no control over them.

That’s not how it works. You don’t give your fingerprint to whatsapp or any app which uses your fingerprint. Fingerprint is stored on your device and it compares your fingerprint to that. The App doesn’t have access to your fingerprint, it’s seperate extension.
