Cortex A73 (oh sorry, Qualcomm call them Kryo 260 gold) are clocked to 2.0ghz on 665 and to 2.2ghz on 660
Adreno 610 seems to perform a little less than Adreno 512...we must wait to see fullhd on SD665, no OEM released a SD665 with a fullhd screen yet (when most SD660 devices used fullhd screen)

    Until meditek releases its drivers, i am gonna stick with snapdragon

        Mediatek has to provide sources for the soc to OEM
        OEM have to add sources for all the other piece of hardware (touch screen, cameras, fingerprint scanner...)

        As we see a little more devices with Mediatek's in western countries, we can see more and more sources for them...
        For Exemple :
        - Oppo released for Reno Z and A3
        - Xiaomi released for Redmi 6 and 6a

        You have to wait and see :
        if the device is available in western countries, you will probably have...
        If not, you probably won't

            I don't understand, why the F they don't release it it will make their chipsets more likeable and easier to develop on.

              For longer lasting battery and for less draining its capacity is good enough.
              On a 6 inch screen not even a bloke working on radar for new york largest airport would see any differences between Full HD or 1080p 2k or 4K.
              Its just gimmick which drains your battery extremely fast.

                  Looks promising and SD665 is not bad either in a phone worth 150 bucks.
                  Other companies for same specced phone would ad double the Xiaomi price.

                    Snapdragon 665? Are Xiaomi joking? Snapdragon 665 is for HD+ screen just like Mi CC9e. Note 8 should be using SD710 at minimal. SD712 is better. SD665 is S636 successor, not SD660.

The Note 7 Pro had a 67... moreWell I guess they try to get over that by offering a very big jump in performance in the Pro version. It might be mediatek but I'm used to the SD801. Since that old chip can run pretty much any game at low I don't care if its a mediatek. Especially when they offer such a huge battery. I'm very greatful for my Xperia Z2. It was and is the best phone IMO and any phone is an upgrade in terms of specs. Now I use the older Xperia ZR and I wish there were more easy to handle less than 70mm wide phones. Pixel 3a is one of those.

                            G90/G90T compete with SD730 and 730G, not 710.
                            Mediatek announced better framerate on G90 (the slower version) than 730G (the faster version)

                            You must know that Mali G76 has twice the number of lanes per execution unit compare to G72...
                            (That's the same with G52! Twice the lanes per execution Unit! Arm makes us crazy with GPU, G52's core is better than G72's!!!)
                            G76mp4 is better than G72mp8, Kirin 970 uses G72mp12
                            Frequency is a little bit better on G90T...(800mhz...it's not a crazy frequency)
                            According to GPU core's lanes configuration, number of cores and frequencies, G72mp12 on Kirin 970 should be around 40% better.

                            But benchmarks gives far closer results.
                            Antutu's 3D score is around 67000pts on G90 (on a total of 222000 with a GPU clocked at 720mhz)...according to higher frequency, G90T will be around 73000 (on a total of around 230000)
                            Antutu's 3D score on Kirin 970 is around 83000 (on a total or 210000)
                            All these score are related to Antutu 7 (a new version is near...)
                            It's only around 12% less on this test.
                            SD730's 3D score is around 58000 on a total of 216000 (Mi9T/Redmi K20)
                            SD730G's is around 63000 on a total of 202000 (Galaxy A80 - total score is very strange!)
                            Kirin 810's G52mp6 is around 73000...not that far from 970's G72mp12!

                            One other leaked benchmark is GFX-Bench Manhattan OpenGL 3.0.
                            Framerate on G90 is 48fps...according to frequencies, G90T should be around 52fps
                            Kirin 970's is around 55fps
                            It's around 7% only.
                            SD730's is only 38 fps
                            SD730G's 42fps

                            Ressources Management Engine (part of Mediatek's HyperEngine) can improve GPU's results, but I don't believe 12 or 7% are realistic.
                            I think reality is somewhere between theorical core configuration (40%) and benchmarks results (7 or 12%)...I believe 25% isn't a bad opinion

                            But in the worst hypothesis, Kirin 970's GPU is only 1.4x better than G90T's, not 2x

The only thing I believe which is not correct is the GPU. The Kirin 970 was not very good against the SD 845 but its almost 100% faster than the SD710 GPU which is what the G90T is competing against.

                              You can see in the GPU benchmarks the 970 was almost 100% faster so its definitely going to be more than just marginal.

                                The Mi A3's Snapdragon 665 has Adreno 610 GPU, which should be similar to S660's Adreno 512 but more power efficient. Well, it turned out that its raw performance is actually a bit lower than on the Snapdragon 660's GPU, so performance upgrade is definitely out of the question here.

                                    Way to go Xiaomi, what a way to ruin a nice run with Note series. Don't get me wrong, as per specs the G90T is a good SoC no doubt about that, but Note series have always been very popular with modding community (XDA and friends) and the Mediatek does not fit in simply because they do not release their source code. No kernel sources means little to no development (custom, not official).

                                    I am sure that they are going to release the next series with Qualcomm again, but the 8 Pro would be a good package already had it not been for a Mediatek SoC.

                                    Also the vanilla 8 could have had SD670 in it, but I guess they had a lot of 665s in stock so why throw it away.

                                      Right, 970's GPU is a little better (not that much, maybe 25%...Antutu said even less than that but I'm not confident in), process too...but not CPU (newer A76 vs old A73), not AI (P90's inference Engine is better than K980's even if now king of AI is K810), not ISP, not bluetooth, not camera (64MP)...
                                      A phone is not only a soc...and even only about the soc, G90T will beat K970 on many things.

                                        Anders, 26 Aug 2019The honor Play launched at 250 for 4+64 with what was a fla... moreRemember price differs across Europe, could make 30E or more and that guy says 200 for RN7 3/32 (I'd pay less for 4/64 where I live) so this is one part of it (you're both not completely wrong then).

                                        Anyway I'd agree with him Pro must cost more than +30E compared to RN8. Even if A50 is popular... You get better CPU, camera, cooling... and some people don't care or prefer LCD over OLED. Highest sales possible also not necessary in Europe, they'll make it in Asia. So in the end price could be about 250-300E depending on country (comparable with A50 and 9X Pro).

                                        Last but not least, X. might decide to sell it here (9X Pro competitor) or not at all. Release Mi A3 Pro and keep Mi 9 series at 300+ price point here. We'll see it all soon (they say global launch should not be as late as usual this time).
