Mediatek is a brand name for a group of processors. There are many processors from Mediatek some good and some bad. You have to compare apples to oranges and vice versa.

The Mediatek G90T is better than the SD730 in many ways. Similarly Qualcomm 439 is better than the cheaper Mediatek P22 in many ways. You can't make sweeping statements like Qualcomm is better than Meditek.

You can get a View 20 or Mi9 for 350 now so 229 for the Note 8 Pro would be about right. They won't sell many in Europe if they charge more than that. Europeans would rather get a Samsung A50 for 250. One of the top selling phones in Europe this year from a brand everyone in Europe knows and trusts

        I doubt 8 Pro cost less than 250€ with 4/64...
        If Xiaomi uses cheap eMMC storage.
        If Xiaomi uses UFS, it will be even more expensive

        Don't forget G90T's GPU is at least twice faster, the 4 caméra, 64MP, real inference Engine for AI in addition of DSP, MIMO 4x4...
        I think 6/128 can even cost up to 300€ if it comes in our countries

          I compare A76 with 4 instructions per cycle to A72 with 3...I volontary not comparing to A73 with 2 ISP which more efficient...due to number of big cores and frequencies, I think it's ok.
          But of course comparison isn't easy

          About GPU the one one on Kirin 960 is G71mp8 when the one on G90T is G76mp4...
          G76 is about twice powerfull and bigger than G72...on GPU I think comparison isn't far from reality

            I hope the Note 8 Pro gets a proper global launch this time. The Note 7 Pro never did. If the pricing is right I would be ok the Mediatek SOC. The Note 7 launched at 199 euros in Europe for the 4+64 version so if the Note 8 is the same and the Pro is 229 I think they'll do well.
            They both need NFC though. Not just the pro

                The 665? That's very disappointing. The Note 7 Pro had a 675 which is much better. The Note 8 should've had a 675 or 712

                The 665 in the Note 8 isn't really an upgrade over the 660 in the Note 7

                  You've got 2 Big cores pushed to 2.05ghz in 12nm
                  For exemple, Huawei pushed 4 Big cores to 2.5ghz in 16nm on Kirin 955
                  You've got Mali GPU pushed to 800mhz in 12nm
                  For exemple, Huawei pushed Mali to 900mhz in 16nm on Kirin 960

                  Redmi's manager said tests were made...
                  G90T consume 10% more than 7nm soc. This soc must be SD855 and is of course more powerfull.
                  Xiaomi uses a 12.5% bigger battery on Note 8 Pro compare to K20 Pro
                  ...and adds cooling system

                          Happy to see some reasonable comments regarding mediatek processor

                          This G90T chipset on paper is the most meaningful feature wise chipset on the market period

                          It objectively have features not present in any other chipset and that includes from the big boys Snapdragon 855 etc

                          Every year we get more powerful CPU /GPU and APU that the average consumer doesn't even use

                          But the gaming features on this G90T are immediately useful and unique I don't think any other chip this year will have these features MAYBE the Kirin 990

If its GPU is weaker then it's better to get a Realme 5 Pro or a Redmi Note 7 series smartphone. And FHD is absolutely necessary, who the heck wants to use a 720p smartphone in this day and age?

                                    If I bought phone of redmi or mi in india of indian version which is not launched in nepal.that means redmi note 8 pro is launching in india 29 but it is not release in nepal along december or far.
                                    If so, the phone works in Nepal if I bought this in india? Please reply because I want to buy redmi note 8 pro during this september

                                        Actually Mediateks Chip is not as powerful as Snapdragon. They are cheaper than the rest so if you want to sell your phones cheat price then you opt for that. This makes me think they will give us another very cheap prices of the Redmi note 8 series. Any way the specs of this New chip looks very promising. I would love to try it out although I don't love it. If the battery life great with great cameras and many other features then they can still make it big. Let's all try this new chip and see. On Paper its powerful than Snapdragon 710.
