So which other cpus besides Kirin does ARK Compiler work on? (if they only works on Kirin-devices then it's not comparable, becuase they can add special instructions not supported by other cpu-vendors)

If you are referring to Andrews Munns arcticle, then I assume you know he himself acknowledged the whole arcticle was based on misconceptions right?
Also Android has evolved hugely over the years so ancient history isn't too relevant these days (although still interesting)

Memory usage is actually really impressive on Apple devices, *but* they also impose several limits on what apps can and can't do in background.
Also they are running on complete different cpus, possibly even using some very clever hardware trick.
And there are way too many users complaining about their iOS devices running slow after upgrading to new iOS versions.

Sorry but this is being an absolutely bisar statement
You have to remember that Android runs on everything from 10$ phones up to highend flagships that cost up to 1200$
Also speaking about speedtests my Xiaomi Mi 6 does pretty well even compared to an Iphone X (not in terms of benchmarks of course) but in terms of launching applications.

Samsungs TouchWiz was(?) known for makig phones laggy. but both Sonys and Xiaomis implementation is buttery-smooth.

After lot of time a phone with decent design I was looking for. Lack of 3.5mm is deal breaker for me. Sony Xperia 1, Nokia 9, pixel 3 were the last phones with no nonsense notch, holes, etc bs. Pop-up, flip cameras are good but it simply increases the cost. Instead of paying for those i would like to pay for decent tech improvement. Faster storage device, better touch response, battery optimisation.
Phones are getting really huge.

Overal all things Meizu have done with this 16s Pro is good. The main problem of Meizu is not the spec but the availability outside China and less Global ROM support. The price will increasing very much if I buy it online and import to my country. The quite amount of shipment fee and import tax kill the interest of Meizu.
I have no problem if Meizu only update the Flyme version (not the Android) as far as it is stable n less bugs. As u have known that all Android version will always be laggier than iOS (WP OS n BB Touch OS which had been stopped) because of wrong coding from the begining. It's build for keypad and keyboard usage, not touch optimized just like iOS (also WP OS n BB Touch OS).

GSMArena please do a review of this phone. I had quite bad experience with Meizu's software & updates, and would like to see how things are now since this phone needs a lot of praise in term of physical design and they proudly announced new version of Flyme. Not to mention good price too. Also to confirm that 3.5mm port is really gone or not.

ha, 28 Aug 2019Very cute baby battery but uselessThe battery should be more than enough, my Mi 6 has a battery of 3300 mAh, and SD 835 cpu, the battery is still holding up really well, even after two years of usage.
So Meizus phone will probably don't have too much to worry about, with a much more power-efficent SOC, AMOLED screen (AMOLED is usually using less power than LCD), it might not be a top-performer in terms of battery-life, but it's probably be quite decent.

Some websites report return of the 3.5mm jack! No photos of the phone from top or bottom part so no clue.
Meizu website, google, nowhere. All the same front and back photos.
If they returned the 3.5mm jack, this IS the 2019 "killer flagships" 376$ phone lol
