Works extremely well in RAW with 3rd party apps but you're limited to main camera only. The internal camera app is just poor product reducing the performance to these values.

In fact i prefer it most than others, especially that camera shutter button. What it lacks and lagging behind are the rest of the hardware & specs. Dont just blame it for the marketing, where Sony dont spend a penny for it like others did, yet put a high price as others despite lagging behind. If Xperia 1 put a price max at $800, people wont complain.

Having owned almost all flagship xperias since z2, now rocking a xz3, I am not surprised at these results. I have always said, Sony hardware is built like a brick house, their camera software is built like a sh%& house.
How they are no. 1 in photography but can't get their act together for mobile is beyond me. While other manufacturers who have sony camera modules are able to do soo much better.
Sony made their bed and now they're sleeping in it, with less then 1 million in mobile shipments. Good job Sony!

Sony phone cameras are really horrible but honestly let's stop getting more attention to DxOMark. it is a trash pay to win junk.

Most of the people are simple as they would be, leaded by trends, should I remind you those notch or hole living with you, when Sony put the notch on the "butt" of it XZ3. Cheers for the spirit and passion but not to the trends.

i have both the xperia 1 and the pocophone f1, and i can attest to this. i was quite satisfied with the pocophone f1, but because of all the hype and nostalgia of going back to sony i gave in to buying an xperia 1. aside from the screen, really the pocophone f1 can go toe to toe with the xperia 1.
i honestly loathed sony for coming up with the 21:9 aspect ratio on xperia 1- well, really all oems for changing from the 16:9. because 16:9 is the aspect ratio used by all game and app developers. even web pages are designed for 16:9. but i have since changed my mind after a few days having the xperia 1. i got myself last night the note 10 plus (4G), and i held it beside the xperia 1- the new phone still cannot touch the xperia 1's screen. i do have to decide which phone to keep between the note 10 plus and the xperia 1 as i have to resell one of them. i know i said before i hated the curved edges on the new notes and that i have recently come to love the 4k screen on the xperia 1, but that was really just it that i have for the latter.
so, really, just to be honest to the sony fans here- the only thing xperia 1 is good at is its screen. nothing more. i loved xperias back in 2010-2012, but they have barely put up good phones that can compete wtih the top dogs since then.
