- ask for availability on EU/US : then Xiaomi will provide Kernel sources on GitHub
- increase community : when many people get the device, devs will work on it.
Instead people will do the opposite and then blame Mediatek...no sense!

For me these are great devices. There are some alternatives, but combined with MIUI, Xiaomi phones are unbeatable value. For sure I won't buy such huge "mobile", but for people on budget these are just fine.

I can only speak for Europe, it's worse for them in Asia where more other brands' new phones are coming.
Note 8 is simply O.K. Mostly you get overall better camera section for same or even lower price than Note 7 (which sells quite good here). At this price, it's hard to find competitor even if upgrade is basically the camera this time so why not. (in case one doesn't need better performance and bigger screen but priceier and worse camera in 9X)
Note 8 Pro might not be released outside of Asia so why care until this is known. It all depends on the SoC for it though. Real life experience rather than theory and MTK reputation will answer the question. I can't tell now.

bigger and bigger and bigger screen. please make it small for the successor. 6" - down is enough. we dont have large pocket to fit that size. 🤦🤦🤦🤔

No......it is not enough...due to lack of powerful Optical Image Stabilizer on its main camera..that means noisy and blurry image in night time.

Gonna wait for Realme XT, or even better Xiaomi's upcoming 1/1.33" ISOCELL HMX sensor equipped phone, since i don't want to be locked on stock MIUI ROM and stock camera app, even if all Snapdragon 700 series are weaker than Helio G90T.
