Exynos 980 is Samsung’s first 5G-integrated mobile chipset

It is based on the 8nm FiNFET process and the integration of the 5G modem should lower power consumption.

Looks nice. I don't care about mid specs to be honest since unlike Qualcomm X50 modem who always needs the expensive SD855, this thing could make 5G phone much cheaper and affordable for regular people.

this is just the first, the makeshift, testing unit based on the components and procedures they had in the warehouse, launched to show and let people know they are in the game, just marking the territory. in some 6 mounts they will announce the real thing.

First, 8 nm for Exynos 9820, now 8 nm for 980. 7 nm only for 9825 which perform even worse than the 9820. It seems that Samsung's 7 nm process needs a lot of work...

Looks like a SoC for next year samsung sub-flagship phones.
