Sorry but I really see this a marketing gimmick. Unless you are planning to enlarge the pictures to the size of a football field and view from a helicopter what discernable difference are you actually going to see on any reasonable sized monitor, say less than 60 inches?

Nokia will launch a phone with 101MP camera sensor in MWC 2013 which can capture images maximum in 16MP and record videos in Ultra Definition at 120 fps. Other specs will be same as Nokia 808 pure view.

41 megapixels? And what about sensor size itself? Its not a full-frame camera ya know, so I dont believe in superb quality.

Dynamac, 27 Feb 2012Sigh....more marketing gimmick. 41MP wow....all that mega p... moreHi there,

I think you need to read the press releast properly.

The sensor is 41MP, but the image you actually take is 5MP.

Why would you want to do this? It allows you to reduce the noise in the picture and gives you what is effectively an optical zoom. If you zoom in on a normal smartphone camera it is digital zoom, which means you loose quality. With PureView you do not get this. This really puts a smartphone cameras into another league, and will even make the N8 camera look like something from the last century.

Watch out for Damian Dinnings article in a few days time as he will explain why it is so good and expand on my very brief summary :)

oh god... I expected optical zoom from pure view....
But this one is really monstrous with the ability to capture images at different MP(2,5,8,34)....
But no 12 MP resolution.... LOL
It comes with HTML5 support... Even though the 48GB(16+32) of storage is enough, they should've updated it to 64GB(32+32)... LOL

Android fan (Blaming) boys who don't like symbian and 808 pureview, why the hell you're here....

Moreover its da price group dats competetive n nt titles like flagship. N dis phones gonna certainly cost at least as much as sgs3 n even more certainly seem pathetic in front of it.lolz

1080p video with single core cpu. Now thats innovation. Better than multicore innovations which r of no use. For all these days i thought the only advantage dual cores had was 1080p res videos. Great job nokia ! Lead the way with real innovations !
