If you look closely those samples, especially that one where guys are dancing or something you will see a lot of hot pixels and dead ones. White, red and more. Is that flaw of engineering sample or some sad feature of monster 41Mpix sensor? :(

I see people trying to compare this to a professional camera saying it isn't as good or saying that it cannot have a 41mp sensor, that its just a marketing gimmick. It is not, its just the best camera phone out there, no other phone can beat it in the camera department. Instead of looking for reasons to complain just enjoy the technological advancement this phone is.

AnonD-11222, 27 Feb 2012IF this phone started taking picture quality that equals to... moreThey have definitely got some competition now.

While it is true that a camera-phone can never match the quality of DSLRs, but Nokia 808 seems to come mighty close and I am sure that 90% people won't be able to tell which photo is taken by which if both are printed on A4-size.

If you want a concise and brief summary of this phone, read this, if not, don't. Some people just dont get what this is about, if you did, you wouldnt be comparing this phone to a freaking FULL-FRAME(*a full frame sensor is as good as it gets) dslr, really?? the best camera you have is the camera you have on you..the 808 does that, it tries to make sure every memory worth remembering is recorded as it should be..it pushes you to explore, to live..what kind of adventure do you think you'd have lugging a dslr around, this gives you the best of both worlds, find one that does that as well as this phone (the oneX looks promising, but just like SE and their backlighting tech implementation, it very likely won't do as well, though its f2.0 stop number is impressive, the nokia n8 had f1.83 and the 808 has f1.2, the largest of ANY mobile camera, bigger than most point and shoot cameras..fyi, smaller f-stop numbers are 'exponentially' better). If you're taking about this phone and its' MP count being a gimmick, read the pureview white paper, the internet is called the information highway for a reason, the algorithms essentially averages out the pixel qualities of 8 pixels to create one that's more true to form, thus noise is also kept very minimal. END

What I am even more excited than the photos is the video recording. It will give you 4x 'optical' zooming on 1080p videos and 6x on 720p videos, and it is actually better than the normal optical zoom in some ways. Excellent audio recording (at least specs-wise) and sliding zoom complete the package.

                  So in a nutshell....

                  - It gives you over 90% functionality of Android.
                  - It gives you over 90% photo quality compared to profession cameras.
                  - It gives you 90% video quality of an entry level HD camcorder.

So the choice is overs.... go buy all three and deal with problems like bulkiness and much higher cost and claim that you are getting better things..... or just get this phone and you get everything.

Nash, 27 Feb 2012Well this product will be for people who don't have a clue ... moreWhat makes you're existence in this forum invalid is that you are assuming that people will get this over a DSLR for serious photography because of 41mp sensor. Ok, you know what, i think i'll hang a massive nikon camera on my neck while i party this friday. And say to my friends that as a general rule i can't use a camera other than DSLRs to take photos. And that they should stop looking for better cameraphones since they are all equally crap, and then maybe we could start a photography club or something like that.

Even in cameraphone department, there has to be someone who does it better. And nokia's doing it.

AnonD-10974, 27 Feb 2012that 41 MP is a real joke..it can't be, even the biggest ca... morethe thing (even though there is from nikon and cannon in there latest line)

canon and nikon dont really care for megapixels they care about quality they and REAL PHOTOGRAPHERS not teenagers
prefare a really really high quality 4mp camera than not that bad 22mp

anyhow, when you have 41mp even if its not something, the fact that the picture is 41mp make it good
that means even if there is NOT THAT much sharpness or too much noise or....
you will still be seeing a 41mp photo on a what 2mp screen... so it will be good no matter what

The N8 is still unmatched right now, and most people agree with that (except the odd troll)
What Nokia have done is push the boundaries once again, no one can deny that.
Also worth mentioning, there will be allsorts of tweaks and fixes before the final product is pushed out in May.
