Manufacturer's customers are primarily carriers, and carriers prefer larger phones which display better, and can be priced higher, thus making service contracts more enticing.

it is so stupid, ever since 2015s nothing new comes that is even cool anymore... all they ever do is candybar factor phones, can they even make phones that can be used as a secret taser or electrifying gadget?! now that will be seriously cool stuff!

No other phone can keep up no matter how much they will try.

"However, the company faces a problem - it can't license Android for the new Mates". Elsewhere on the web says Huawei can use Android as it is opensource but will be blocked from using Google services like mail, maps, youtube. Confusing. Wonder if Huawei can be setup to masquerade as something else like no brand.

Pathetic IFA with nothing even remotely interesting.
Xperia 5 a compact? Don't make me laugh?
Phones with more cameras? They already have plenty.
High res high refresh displays? Utterly pointless on a mobile device.
Nokia flip was the most innovative and that's based on a 15 year old phone. Says it all really.
