Does the smartphone company knows what compact size users are expecting? 6 inch is too big and even Nokia is releasing standard 6.x size. What happened to 5.8 inch range. Even budget phones are coming with bigger screens. Only compact phones i see in market are premium phones such asSamsung galaxy S10 and S10e and iphone. Seems makers are saying majority buyers dont like compact phones?

Krisbenea, 08 Sep 2019Asus and Sony do innovation, others just meh On what Sony is innovating ? Naming one of there biggest body size phone as a compact ? Xperia 5 is as big as there 2018 flagship Xperia XZ3. Thats innovation ?

In the picture you can also see that the IFA didn't allow BigDisplay in with his smartphone, so he had to leave his Huawei Mate 20 XXXXXL outside the venue ;)

Walter C. Dornez, 08 Sep 2019Yeah, a weak IFA to say the leastWell, the good part is that there are plenty of exciting phones yet to be announced on their individual events. The Mates, Pixels, iPhones & a few others.

A nice round up of what appears to be a pretty poor showing.
The Plex is not TCL's first self branded phone though. Not even close.

Zinkee, 08 Sep 2019Giving a hint is not an answer, but thanks though.Look at the picture above. You can find out location of IFA 2019. Then you know where the city located. No need ask somebody else.

Walter C. Dornez, 08 Sep 2019Feels objectively not as exciting as last yearScrolling through this list, I saw absolutely nothing noteworthy. Even the full, non-cellphone IFA announcements were boring. The Nintendo Direct from 4 days ago was much more exciting and yet the only new announcement that made me excited was the SNES.

Habib wardak, 08 Sep 2019That's right but both Asus and Sony struggle for market eve... morethus, most people are not really into innovation... looking for a "good appearance" i guess, later on they will just "justify" what they consider good handset... btw, LG is doing good as well, but not as i look at the Xperia 5
