Expensive and nothing new from Sony. At lest they was leader in camera department,but I think that Huawei will pass them with mate 30.

With the situation in Sony mobile, I expected a reasonable price. With Xperia 1 being out, being cheaper and being better, this phone here has little to no luck.

Underspecced, overpriced, limited availability, little or no carrier support, ridiculous amount of time between announcement and retail.
At the IFA presentation, the Japanese guy didn't spend more than 5 minutes on introducing the Xperia 5. More interest was shown on the wireless headphones and the new Alpha camera.

Are people seriously comparing a street pricing with official pricing? Street price of Xperia 1 is already 750 which makes it cheaper than Xperia 5 from the get go, that is if you don't want warranty. But that's apple and oranges.

P30 does not even have official pricing in US. End of story.

In Latvia official sony center xperia 1 sells for 777 Eur, already. And this will go for 800 good one.

The amount of units with headphones are limited so, at the end, is an overpriced product and a downgrade below the 1 with similar price now after the drop in price. Not interesting, better buy other phone and save enough money to even buy a good smartwatch or sportswatch in tandem or use it for a more profitable use.

This preorder bonus with wireless earphones is the best offer you'd probably get ever. Buying the phone itself at $800 is just too expensive.

Maybe a little wider for my preference but actually seems like a good size, imo.

As in India Sony Xperia 10/1/5 are not available on India under warranty hence I went for 21:9 Motorola One Vision which is 6.3 inches, let be tall but does not feel big in hand due to its less width.
After using iPhone SE for 2 years in 2016/17 I broke 4 mobiles due to big size. Finally using 21:9 concept in Moto since 2 months I hv dropped accidently only twice now which prior I used to drop almost every other day. Thanks for this 21:9 concept Sony and Motorola

i'm seriously considering buying it... size wise is very much equal to my current one, thought taller but narrower, altogether same in volume, much larger screen... buying it as a company phone means no 20% vat, sell the earbuds as I do not need them and, well.., get a really good phone for some 550-600, less than p30 or s10 (over 650...). considering the usual sony quality, most likely I will use it for the next 3-4 years. not bad. as I said, i'm seriously considering buying it...
