KebabSLO, 12 Sep 2019Yea right. The phone is mediocre, far from one of the best... morethe one plus is an obsolete garbage I prefer the Xperia 1 with its Bravia 4k oled screen and its Alpha camera, the video camera of your one plus should give eye cancer

Sony should have done Xperia 1 12mp dual pixel way from the very beginning, this happens only when Alpha team got involved. Todays pixel binning method are way better, eventhough lower down res for optimal performance, pixel size are increased for better low light performance.

I must add 1 more issue, many bugs in the system which sony is too lazy to fix or not even bother to fix at all.

Notice how they went from 20.7 MP (from my Z3), to 23 MP on Z5, then went down to 19 MP with XZs, then now 12 MP on Xperia 1 and Xperia 5.

What is with these lenses looking like threatening Sentinel robot eyes from the Matrix, or Aragog's spider eyes from Harry Potter? Or a kitchen stove where you can cook pasta?

waiting for the test reviews. is to be expected to be similar if not the same software, with same hardware..., as for the Xperia 5. it will be a good indication of what to expect from Xperia 5.

                        Their handsets are promising, almost.

As a xperia phone user and almost a fan( still using a xperia XZ which is released in last quarter of 2016), even I wouldn't buy a Sony phone these days, it's just not worth it( not until the vendor that selling the phone drop its price to $500 and less).

The so call camera quality is pretty much a joke. I was buying in for the high MP in camera but the phone didn't do better than another other phone that uses a Sony camera sensors!

Xperia's camera app are slower than any other smartphone on market and it is easy to get overheated too!

But year by year, Sony stopped releasing mid range devices in India and released only flagships which were priced even higher than Samsung S series and note series. They could have made a mark in sub 30,000 segment. No wonder, they had to exit Indian market.

The phone is mediocre, far from one of the best. The deal for this phone is only kinda good if they sell it in bundle with (200-250 $) headphones. I would rather buy One Plus at this point.

That's interesting as the camera is great even now. Could somebody take a picture, update and take the same picture again so we can justify the difference? Please post links, 1 users, thanks in advance! :)

Sony's attempts look half hearted now. They've been exiting markets where they could have done far better with slight change in strategy. Their phones were very costly and the after sales service was pathetic. They cannot say that people do not appreciate the brand without looking at what went wrong. I'm from India and I cannot get a Sony phone because it is no longer available or supported. Sad state of affairs and I wish they learn or die soon rather than being on ventilator and suffer.
