Now i get it y u guyz luv symbian so much. Most of the symbian users claim that they dont care too much about apps. Thats y they r unable to understand the true power of android. It might b true that belle is providing gud features perhaps even bttr than android( i cant know since i neva used belle). But thanks to the huge wealth of apps of android platform, one can actually tune/customize his/her os according to one's preference. This versatility of android is wat takes it to the top. For example, just take a simple one like the touchscreen keyboard. It might nt b as gud as the one offered in belle. But thanks to an app called 'swype', my keyboard suddenly becomes the bttr one bcuz i hardly hav to tap it. Another example is the video callin service. U guys hav to wait for os updates, even if u hav a front facing camera (like the n9 users). But all we gotta do is download an app called 'skype' n v get the video callin service. Same goes for the video player,music player,processing power,battery back up,etc. I cud go on forever. See nokia fans want ready made capabilities while v fandroids dont mind updating our softwares as much as possible. :)

1. Decent UI (not so much attractiv... morenumber 2 on your list is a HUGE fail when talking about smartphones. and no, it doesn't even have all the most useful apps.
no app for my bank, wich i use daily. (not even WP has it)
no Dropbox, wich i use daily.
no Facebook Messenger, wich i use CONSTANTLY. has replaced SMS completely for me.
and no a whole bunch of other apps i use occasionally.

Ony 2 cons of Symbian.
1. Decent UI (not so much attractive)
2. Lack of apps as iOS & android (but have most useful apps).
Except these 2 things, all the other features symbian handle better than android. i.e. multitasking, power management, etc.
These are the facts. Now don't fight.

Jay, 02 Mar 2012I agree that is Symbian could have better UI and some other... morei can honestly believe that Belle is nice and smooth, but it has a lot to prove in order to make me want to choose it over WP, iOS or Android.

And Symbian is still Supported till 2016 but they never clearly said that it will die af that time. Even Elop said that Meego is not dead yet, i bet they are cooking something. Yes W7 UI looks better then Symbian, but Belle is really nice and Smooth!

And some features of Meego has implemented in Belle, and if you are really a Symbian/Android developer than you will back my statement that Symbian has more features than Android! It can do more! And i agree that Symbain is maybe older but Belle comes close. Symbian is far better fine-tuned than Android, like not needing Dualcores to run or 1GB ram and the battery life is far better with Symbian. Also 1080p recording witha single core cpu! Android can't, these are just some examples.

why would i wan't a dying platform that has only a very, VERY small fraction of the apps available to other platforms? same with MeeGo. it was declared dead before it hit the shelves. roflmao.

@Jay what you just said is laughable , being an developer of Symbian and Android, i have also played with meego for a good while, its true that its a great os,, some of the features are surprisingly great in meego, but it cant be pushed no where near the level of android, dont say stuff without really knowing about it

I don't understand why the android fans always making negative comments about nokia and symbian. Nokia has made an innovation with symbian and it created a stir in the market. Fandroids can walk away if they can't tolerate the reception symbian powered 808 is getting from all over the world. Symbian may or may not live for long but nothing will eclipse it the way in which it dominated the smartphone world. Elop and nokia management will feel one day for the symbian's forced exit.

nokia rocks, this is really new in mobile ,whit belle and usb on go , dlna ,hdmi,wifi,tcp/ip,social midia, office,real muiti tasking,is goood, and for games kids like use the others OS .this is for every moments works ,and vacation family and professional good nokia

Just because Belle has been out for a while doesn't change the fact that it's barely catching up to Android. With the introduction of the Notification bar Belle is just a wanna be android. You guys keep crying android is ugly, this and that yet Nokia copies Android with the way icons look, notification bar, and much more. "LOLz". So shall I come laugh at you guys again next year when Nokia fails to make a dent in any markets with their "pure808 monster"?
