It was shipped from China, where do they get it, I don't really care, it was still 2/3 of the price of local shops.

                              Stores and reviewers can get early information or products from the producer with strict embargo on no telling public until certain date.
                              that certain date usually is the "official annoucement" date after that the embargo is lifted and sales+reviews start to trickle down to the public.

                              This method allows reviewers and stores to have some times to prepare for the sales or review before the annoucement/end-of-embargo date.

                              problem being, sometimes like on this case, the store decide to announce the product before xiaomi officials did.

                                All sorts of people get information about a device or even the device itself prior to its announcement. It helps to know what you're going to be selling and how you will market it. Plus it gets the device in hands of biased paid... uh I meant Social Lamedia influencers, so you have a lot of propaganda... uh reviews, ready on day one that will flood people on social lamedia. Anyway the company gives the info early on one condition: that you may not publicly reveal it before the company does.

                                  Hmm convert that to my currency, that's about the same price as 6/64 GB Mi 9T. I don't remember the details about Note 8 Pro but I much rather get 9T due to Amoled screen, SD processor, and no notch.

                                    Can someone explain - which embargo? Is Xiaomi on some list like Huawei or what?
