I never understood this apple vs android hate. These are just mobiles. Use whatever you like to use.
I use both iPhones and androids (Samsung galaxy S2 -> iPhone 4s -> iPhone 5s -> iPhone 6s -> iPhone 7 -> Samsung galaxy S8 -> One Plus 6 + iPhone XS).
And I love both platforms.
Please don't just hate if other person having different opinion than yours.

Android sheeple that can't appreciate a good OS and good design. Come back when Android OEMs come back with something they didn't rip off of Apple.
Idea of a modern, all screen smartphone - stolen from OG 2007 iPhone. Still ubiquitous in all phones
Idea of an app store - stolen from iPhone 3G. The main content delivery platform on all mobile devices
Specs race - inspired by 3GS. Still ongoing
Good cameras in phones - inspired by iPhone 4. Still a hot issje
Voice assistant - iPhone 4S. Though Google Assistant is better now than Siri which Apple sidelined.
Fingerprint scanner - iPhone 5S
And so on. Recently bezel less display trend was all due to iPhone X (and arguably Mi Mix - props to Xiaomi for that).
And so on. Of course Apple wasn't first with many of these things like the FP scanner but they were always the first to do it right and show why you need it. Compare the half assets FP scanner on Moto Atrix to 5S. Apple doesn't ship a feature until it's a good experience for the end user. Same goes with OS. Android was so slow it was unusable until Lollipop - whether that is due to Google finally doing something about the terrible java runtime or hardware bridging the gap is anyone guess. I mean an entire system running in a virtual machine? What a joke. Java is constantly made fun of for how poorly it runs to native code but to base your entire OS around it? Just wow.
Though to be honest the gap between iPhone and Android flagships nowadays is really small. Buy the latest OnePlus or Note and you will have a great experience. The difference now mostly comes down to small things like iMessage or better app support on iOS.
