Anonymous, 05 Mar 2012As previously stated, to which many did not believe, Nokia ... moreKeep dreaming. This phone is only awesome because of the camera technology. The OS have nothing to do with the innovation at all. Brand of phone-maybe. I have a faith in this phone that this'll make samsung, sony and htc eat dust when it comes out. but not in an OS competition. Android and IOS would still be way ahead of windows, imho.

mcneil_ph@y.c, 05 Mar 2012ok, but promise to equally market 808 pureview.. dont do wh... moreI'm sure in the 20 or so markets the PureView 808 will be released in it will be marketed well. The problem is that Nokia has already stated that Symbian phones will no longer be released in many major markets. So even though this will get the marketing push, it will still be stifled by the fact that it will see only limited release

I doubt we will see a Lumia PureView phone this year. WP is still way to beta to support a camera like this. Imagine this great camera on Windows Phone without removable memory and without USB OTG. What a nightmare. I sure hope Nokia survives long enough for windows Phone to catch on. Nokia Capturing 1/3 of the WP market with only 900K units moved is more firefighting then encouraging. Especially since other OEMs are not making WP a priority at all

With that technology...I wouldn't be surprise if Nokia venture in digital camera business.

Tiek, 05 Mar 2012It's a pity that is such an ugly phone. Why did not they us... moreThey use so so design because they don't intend to continue symbian. They just need a platform which they can showcase the pureview technology. They don't want to repeat the same mistake as the N9.

The 808 PureView has an 1.3GHz CPU, an GPU and an additional processor for handling the huge size of the pictures and videos!! ;)

If it wasn't so big and bulky it would be cool if other manufacturers started doing a similar thing.

As previously stated, to which many did not believe, Nokia + WP7 is set to steal Android market share in 2012. This is but one piece of news which will make people start to believe.

Lets see what the end of 2012 looks like Android fanboys.

I liked this PureView 808, but I really think that Nokia should combine with Meego WindowsPhone in dual boot, put a dual core A15 cortex and 1Gb of Ram in dual channel over this PureView in a body of up to 10.9 mm and Gorilla Glass 2. It would be awesome!

David, 05 Mar 2012Can WP7 Run It ? It is 41MP Nokia will not replicate a 41MP camera phone on WP, however, using the same innovation they will produce a camera phone with less megapixel.
If they do create one with the same 41MP that would be bad marketing which will stifle the NOKIA 808 which will release Q3.
The way forward is to battle against other manufactures & OS's and not themselves.

Only a moron would think that Nokia would spend 5 yrs developping a new camera only to be used on one phone. This camera is an industry changing masterpiece of engineering that will serve Nokia and whoever they are associated with well into the future.

"PureView project started 5 years ago"

5 years for technology that isn't even unique. Let alone the fact that even a perfect lens(which 808 doesn't have), with a sensor of that size, can't reach even 30 mp.
