I do hope that Huawei launches the Mate X , but in very low quantities and with as much education and support as Samsung. These prototype phones are not for everyone and people buying one of these phones should be well aware what they are getting into and what they are doing, supporting the development of a new technology in order to help it mature and become available for everyone.

Our fingernails don't touch the screen and our fingertips barely applied any pressure when we use our normal phones. But when we use the Galaxy Fold, we're human need to understand not to press hard on the screen with our fingernails or a razor.

i don't think users will pay such amount to replace the screen during the warranty period and it should be free of cost.

Actually users when see this offer will make them change their mind to switch to other phone as it seems samsung still not sure whether the screen will break or no :(

Que the class action lawsuit in the US :D

Note7 owner, 25 Sep 2019Special instructions to how to take care of your phone? Gee... moreNo. Its NOT because its fragile. Anything have its weakness.

The issue is humans are getting more and more dumb. They need to be told in the face not to do something, what to do something. And they complain more, without knowing the limits of their rights, and blame others for their own folly.

Samsung got burned... by overestimate the intelligence of people.

Special instructions to how to take care of your phone? Geeze this will end up being so much more troublesome. Why even release such a fragile thing?

AnonD-558092, 25 Sep 2019Hmm not really. For a 2k$ phone whose main thing relies on ... moreIt is still shocking to pay $1,000 - $2,000+ for a smartphone/fold and get crapware, ads and soft asthetics.

With Samsung's turtle update speed, expect to always be one version behind the latest Android release.

I would call this phone as environmental pollution. It’s better to get something that can last for a number of years. Especially a phone that can get updates for many years, too.

Samsung must cancel this foldable smartphone. Very low screen quality for ~2000 USD.

If you are buying phone like Fold I guess you should know that screen is most fragile part. And it will be like this with all foldable phones. That's why I can't understand why people are saying that Huawei foldable phone is much better. That would be nightmare.

                              Just... Just embarrassing.

Well if you only have to replace it 10 times before sell or send it to the trash, the maintenance will cost you only $1490 a few less than it initial cost and brag that you had a phone that few could maintain ^^

So if this is a special offer limited to short period, it is pretty safe to expect every other replacement to be much more expensive... Should we guess 299? And with a couple of damaged screen a year, it could end as a rather expensive acquaintance ....

Gosh, I don't want to see the real price then. Probably 600USD to replace the screen out of warranty without this offer.

This thingy is a big joke now.
