I own two of the BOSE, a pair of beats and the airpods. My favorite are the Bose and then the beats. I carry the airpods with me all the time. They are very convenient in terms of the size, charging and pairing. The sound quality sucks and the battery does not last more than two hours listening to music and phone calls last even less. They also fall out my ears. Both bose and beats still have the same battery life of the time I bought them 2 and 3 years ago. I bought my airpods a year ago and barely used them. I will buy the 3rd gen when they come out. Only because on convenience.

Anonymous, 27 Sep 2019OMG the pride and arrogance haha. Look at the top 5 smartph... moreThe funny thing about your comment is that while they are missing key features like ois, nfc, wireless charging, etc., they have the basics/quality of life features nailed down like: faster charging, headphone jack, micro sd, underscreen fp scanner, and many more, while having a pricetag of 1/4 or 1/3 of your beloved iPhone. For the past few years, Apple has been just riding through the jokes and memes for them to be talked about. They deliberately made memeable products paired with high pricetags to be talked about like: the notch that hasn't been improved visually for the third time, the airpods 2 that's still the same, the trashcan mac pro, the hideous looking cheesegrater mac pro compared to its previous version, the separate monitor stand that costs $1000 just to be a headline of news reports. Don't forget their focus on more emojis, animojis, slofies, etc. in every iPhone announcement, while holding back with the more desireable features/upgrades for their iPhones just to cut corners. It always cringe me when they do this just to be memed and talked about, but ofcourse, they will still sell, because they're Apple.

I have used Airpods and I absolutely hate them for so many reasons(No type-c, no noise cancelling, terrible sound, very uncomfortable, falls out a lot etc.) but I have an Android and I imagine one of the main selling points of the Airpods is how well they work with Apple devices. I currently use Galaxy Buds with my Pixel 2 and they're amazing.

Sony WF-100XM3 sound quality is far superior than airpod period.

200 people in a "survey". Why is any gadget blog wasting time on this one-man promotional firm called "Counterpoint"?

It's funny how different the US market has become from the rest of the world.

Anonymous, 27 Sep 2019OMG the pride and arrogance haha. Look at the top 5 smartph... more"People in the west dont care anymore" Dude, u just confirmed my statement there. Of course, u people in the west only care about the earpods bcos its the hype there despite its horrible sound quality and functionalities. Calling innovations of Chinese phones a gimmick? But when apple copies it, they call it a "breakthrough innovation"? How brainwashed are you boy? Im speaking the truth bcos we Asians have the luxury of choice of competition here in our country, unlike there in the US that blocks off competition.

OIS, NFC, Water resistance? Huawei has that and its not for everyone. Preference to 3.5mm jack and card slot are personal, and we have a lot of options of wireless earphones here ( that sound far better than tin-sounding highly expensive earpod. Android needs more RAM bcos its inefficient? Dude, Android needs more RAM bcos of its flexibility. Lots of background processes are maintained bcos of the flexibility of modification it gives to the user... which IOS doesnt have. Heck, it cant even have a single unified file manager that is accessible to all apps. Iphone XR/XS doesnt even have a proper bokeh mode that works well for people and objects while android phones including budget midrangers have that feature including night-mode and portrait in front camera. I dont really complain about these things, but its frustrating how apple can have these limited functionalities. I own an iphone XS Max and Mate 20 Pro, and I only use the iphone for calls and text bcos there's nothing in there that I can do that my Mate 20pro can't.

Apple products are good products but they major drawbacks and far impractical, that's why android is more popular here in asian countries bcos of its flexibility and functionalities which apple does not have. And to call android features a gimmick is the real arrogance there. Apple have made less practical innovations aside from those it copied from android phones. The face unlock is a good innovation though, commended them for that.

Look at the top 5 smartphones on this site, two of them are Zaome mid-rangers and the other two from the same Chinese company are wannabe flagships that are missing key flagship features like OIS, NFC, water resistance, wireless charging etc. The bottom 5 are also mid-rangers from other companies except for the Note9, S10+, and Mate 20 Pro. The only reason they're even up there is because those smartphones have a 3.5mm headphone jack and a card slot, two features most people in the west don't care about because of bigger internal storage space and true wireless tech. I think it's safe to say that most GSMArena visitors are from South/East Asia. As for ads and marketing I bet you see them everywhere in India, I know I did when I was over there. Not just Zaome but Vivo and Oppo too so lets not pretend like it doesn't have an effect on the people there too. Specs aren't everything if you have good software. Android needs more RAM and more everything because it's inefficient as hell whereas iOS doesn't. Even then Android still can't beat iPhones in raw benchmarks lol. And all the innovation coming out of China like pop-up/flip-up/sliding/rotating cameras are total gimmicks. We'll be laughing our butts off in the near future when a more practical solution comes along.

Of course, that is their local product. You should have wrote "only in the US". US customers are far more unaware and uneducated when choosing products. They only rely on marketing, ads, and "hype". Majority of this people don't know anything about specs at all. All they know is Apple is famous and cool.

Asian customers on the contrary are far more educated in product competition and knows how to choose good phones over the famous ones. I bet US customers only know Samsung and Google as the android phones. Pity the US market bcos they don't have real competition and only have samsung, google, and the uninnovative but 'cool' Apple. Not even close to chinese innovation at a very cheap price. Well, "hype" and "coolness" is the priority in the US and really cost that much. LOL
