Flashback: OnePlus One's story is one of great success and some missteps

29 September 2019
Initially, the plan was to sell 50,000 units. Six months after launch, the young company had sold ten times as much and would sell much more.

OnePlus is a plus size cheater in my opinion. They used Google-free Android slogan to gather people's love and establish themselves in the market. But eventually, after getting enough market share, they inserted Google in their phones.
OnePlus will remain as a cheater to me for eternity. Sorry. Betrayed!!!

Here...let me fix this for you...

The OnePlus One was a dream phone – the dream of Oppo, who used slick marketing and "invites" by Pete Lau and Carl Pei to create a rabid fan base. Then, with each device, they have increased the price, to the point it isn't the bargain that it once was, and, users are still saddled with launch bugs.

      You are welcome.

I'd probably still be using the phone today if they just sold more of those god damn bamboo backs. You can't find them anywhere! Literally nowhere!

(Also replacing the battery is pretty easy on the OnePlus One because the battery is exposed when you open the back, just order a replacement and swap it out)

I have the OnePlus One and am still using it, since 2014. It's still mostly functional, but the battery is basically fried with little power retention. Asus are to blame for forcing me to keep using this old phone, because they have significantly delayed the release of their Zenfone 6 here in Canada. I'm left waiting, waiting, waiting...

Ascorth, 29 Sep 2019Xiaomi already launch Mi3 earlier at 2013 with SD 800 and 2... moreXiaomi released Mi 3 for about $250 in 2014 in the Philippines. It was actually released on Dec 31st, 2013 in China but it was mostly released in 2014.

              Oxygen OS > MIUI

And this is coming from someone who still owns the Mi 3 and never owned a OnePlus flagship before.

Pocofone/Redmi and Realme are taking its place now.

                  One and only, simply amazing.
But nowadays their prices are pretty high, and they don't offer as much as before, they we're the best from 2014 to 2016, but now...pretry bad actually compared to Huawei and Xiaomi.

                    - Despite some phones use Qi near 20W, it is slower than usb
                    - Temperature of battery is higher during Qi use
                    - Total life of your battery will be shorter compare to usb charging
                    - you are able to do a lot while usb charging, something you cannot while using Qi.

None would care about this feature if Samsung did not use. It was available from other brands before and none cared.

Great.... I still have my oneplus one running... Though IMO it was oneplus 3 which changed its fortune. Amazing phn and software experience...just perfect. Would still call it better than my Samsung note 8.
