Nick Tagataka, 01 Oct 2019That was back in 2015 when Sharp released Aquos Zeta and Aq... moreVery interesting, I may have a vague impression of the model names but I never heard of the 2100fps at the time.
I can't watch anything on YT right now though, it's 210fps interpolated 10x as in played back in 24fps there's only 2.4 actual frames per second??

S Yu, 01 Oct 2019That's a 1920fps (of unknown readout resolution, a guy said... moreIf I remember it correctly Samsung and Sony also use lower resolution readout for 720p super slow motion video recording, so I wouldn't be surprised if Huawei is doing the same. This is from Galaxy S10+, for instance, and while the resolution is technically 720p the footage itself looks like a 480p one.

Now we need a comparison between Xperia 1's Mate 30 Pro's FHD 960fps slow motion...

S Yu, 01 Oct 2019Sharp? When was that? Though I'm inclined to think Foxconn. That was back in 2015 when Sharp released Aquos Zeta and Aquos Serie.

Anonymous, 30 Sep 2019All slow mo looks bad after Huawei 7000 fps versionThat's a 1920fps (of unknown readout resolution, a guy said to the supposed 720p output that "it looks like 160p", I'm not ruling out 360p though) interpolated 4x.

All slow mo looks bad after Huawei 7000 fps version

S Yu, 30 Sep 2019Seems to be from the bad example set by Huawei. Why don't ... moreI need to agree with you on this one. OnePlus already has 720p 480fps slow motion which is far more useful than instantaneous interpolated 960fps-ish super slow mo which doesn't even look better than the 480fps one, so really, why do they even bother?

Fun fact: Sharp is the first phone manufacturer who came up with an idea of super slow-mo video with heavily interpolated frames, not Huawei or Xiaomi.

Seems to be from the bad example set by Huawei.
Why don't they learn some upright behavior instead of this BS?

Sunde2000, 28 Sep 2019No, I actually use it often, you can get a lot of cool shot... morewell, for this kind of experiments I use real cameras, with better resolution and enough memory storage.

I don't feel so good to hear that they are working on this specific feature while ignoring the actual image quality from the main camera, which is plain mediocre at this point. OnePlus already has one of the most useful slow motion on any smartphones right now(720p 480fps with 1 minute time limit), what's really the point of this update if all it will do is the frame interpolation?

I'm surprised by the fact that nobody is criticizing this given the backlash Xiaomi and Huawei got when it was revealed that they were using interpolation for super slow motion video, though. Come to think of it, Samsung was also doing the same with Galaxy S8/Note 8's "super slow-mo update" and nobody gave a damn. I wonder why?

NipponFan, 28 Sep 2019When Sony announced 960fps recording in xz premium in 2017 ... moreShame that Sony doesn't make it better. They kinda just leave the feature the way it was when first introduced with minor improvements

When Sony announced 960fps recording in xz premium in 2017 everyone called it a gimmick. Now it's the norm
Sony again sets trends that everyone copies.

Weird that isn't there already, when the other models has it.
