Looking forward this this. I am saving for it now. Im sure it'll be yet another interesting alternative with technical firsts like Sony always seems to be able to produce.

Looks like Sony Mobile is going to lose even more money.
It keeps projecting into the future (5G, SoC) to make investors and consumers believe that its mobile business has a future. Just pay no attention to the current doldrums, surely the turnaround in fortunes is coming soon.

Like the camera at the end I have to throw away the photos and videos because the photos of the iPhone and galaxy have too much noise and burns

I thought you should not buy flagship in 2019 because all flagships at SD865 would have 5G and WiFi6 but from this post I anderstood I was terribly wrong. In 2020 5G will not be default for flagships.

Essen, 28 Sep 2019I wonder if all Sony needs is a their own skinned version o... moreSmartphones are taking space from cameras for the simple fact they are devices that can do tons of things. Things many years ago we needed to use a camera, computer, mp3 player etc ....
They have no conditions to compete against cameras.
Cameras have dedicated image chip, while phones rely on ISP from cpu.
Even a 1/2.3" cam can still beat phones, let alone those with 1", 4/3 and apsc.
If you have a great 4K tv at home, use it to display photos from cellphones. You will be shocked how bad they look on big screen.
The division responsible for Sony videocameras allows Xperia to use some stuff , the Cinema Pro because they know no cellphone will give better videos than camcorder.
Unless phones start to use 1" sensor, they are no match to pocket cameras.

i think sony will suffer the same ending as nokia did , other phone companies are making new additions to their phones and sony make phones with same specifications over and over. with high price , i mean for a 1000 you can get a phone like mate 30 pro or note 10+ . sony need to come up with something new not just redesign the outer look of the phone or just copy what other companies do. i think i will switch to samsung or xiaomi i am so disappointed in the last phones since xz premium no real improvement

There is no need for silly stuff like ability to change colour of menus, icons with same shape of iOS apps etc ... They are even removing stuff that can now be found as apps from other devs.
Except for OP, all other chinese are awful with updates. Put stuff most do not use and make android look like iOS cheap copy.
Worst UIs are from Xiaomi and Oppo.

I wonder if all Sony needs is a their own skinned version of Android. Like One UI or MIUI or Oxygen OS. I like Sony's hardware aesthetic. But software is a big driver of usage preference. And in terms of software, Sony has nothing to distinguish it from vanilla Android of the Pixels, Motos, Nokias and other stock Android phones. Right now, what Sony makes is expensive Pixels with a worse camera and some Sony apps built in. Develop an in house skin of Android, improve camera processing without fear of cannibalising sales from their camera division and make their devices available around the world soon after announcement.

I hope they bring back monochrome sensor.
The iso12800 video of XZ2P does many difference.
Also hope it has imx666 (1/1.5" 66.6MP non-quadbayer + quadpixel AF)

My last phone was XZ3 and it's capable to shoot marvelous photos as long as you know how to treat (any) camera.
