it does not make sense, they remove that on the macbook and now they are putting it on the iphones?!
it's not apple like to put something "gimiky" and drains battery just for looks, apple is everything should be optimal and has a function

Sounds excessive. Had lighted logo on my old macbook pros and it used to be cool but now my new unlit logo MBP looks much more PRO, its much more down to business and no bs or bling.

I said that because they'll use the back Apple logo as a light, the dream of using the Apple logo as a TouchID scanner is already dead. Also, I made it clear that Apple should have an underscreen FaceID and underscreen TouchID in their next iPhone.

Anonymous, 30 Sep 2019Those are all temporary gimmicks that will die-off very soo... moreFaceID is awesome feature. And with iOS 13 they made it so fast everything gets unlocked before I even manage to touch anything. And all this without chasing the fingerprint scanner spot.
What I'm expecting is Apple to further enhance this feature by widening the face detection angle and add micro detection of face moving to prevent face reconstruction unlocks, currently you can unlock iPhone using highly detailed fake head based on real person to unlock the phone of said person. It still requires A LOT of work to fool FaceID this way so it's unlikely to happen, but still.
Chinese makers are bold in designs because they want to attract new users by adding crazy tech or absurd features no one asked for but may be useful to some. Apple is more like Volkswagen with their Golf. They don't want to scare away old users by doing anything drastic, which is why they still keep up with technology and trends, but don't make anything wild. It's just the "same old, but better" philosophy.
