Gusta, 30 Sep 2019The main problem is not the Android version but some bugs o... moreHence why NOTHING that is OEM modified, are better than stock Android for those issues you've described. People seriously need to learn what "upstream" AOSP means, how/why phone OEMs "leech" from that and how AOSP is the very reason why it's easier for OEMs to slap on sys resource draining UIs.

Because the whole base code is already done for them! All they gotta do is tweak newer devices' kernels to adapt and then the usual skin jobs afterwards. This for them is crucial when corporate people upstairs don't want their devs to "waste time". Just grab whatever that's easy to adapt to (usually last stable ver Android), quickly add on the UI and make sure it rolls with any newer phone launch dates. In turn? Devs don't see any other benefit to "waste more time" for the UI updates to be fitted with any latest security patch levels.

All in all, just a convenient excuse to NOT upgrade the base Android version + security patch levels.

Because OEM UIs are still "better" right?

In the other ha... moreThe main problem is not the Android version but some bugs of the global ROM which is slow in respond by Meizu team. It doesn't matter what Android version u have as long as Flyme is stable and has so many feature even more than what stock Android has. The main concern also is security patch level.

Make sure whether its really larger or just taller. Because 6" 18:9 easily becomes 6.5" when it's in 19.5:9 but same width. I'll buy it if comes in 18:9 or 18.5:9. I'm searching for a phone with 75mm width and flagship specs.

This NEEDs gorilla glass 6 to be purchase, if not then no way. Let's also hope that it has UFS 3.0, headphone jack, NFC and OIS. And it should really quickly adopt Android 10, aptX, and Wifi 6...
                            Interesting that it'll be a Google Pixel 4 look-alike.

I use a Meizu 16th plus. There are two main weaknesses with the phone - the small battery and the global software support.

It's great to see they are releasing a flagship with a larger battery, addressing one of their biggest downsides. Chances are this will be a great buy if you can cope with a Chinese rom or an old/rarely updated global version.

Meizu always come with old android version. In the other hand I saw interview with their Ceo,he show their building, how they project every smartphone and manufacturing process. Cause of that, they losing time but devices are great.Market share is about 0.5 percent but they survive everything..
