For a work environment, S... moreHe's absolutely right, smartphones are nothing more than expensive "text machines" and toys disguised as marginal tools. They're only good for light editing and basic stuff like surfing the web, sending emails, jotting down notes, taking mundane photos, social mediaing, and playing casual games. If you want to be productive and accomplish more in a short amount of time then x86-64-based laptops and desktops will always reign supreme, always.

The vanilla iPhone 11 with its 3110mAh battery had an endurance rating of 94 hours, and the iPhone 11 Pro with its meager 3046mAh battery had an endurance rating of 86 hours. Not bad Apple, not bad at all. And some Fandroids on this site falsely claim that hardware is more important than software loool.

I might've been interested if it had 8GB of RAM, but 6GB is too low for a modern Android smartphone, even one that's made by Google themselves.

But if you are into making music or editing videos, the exclusive Apple apps are much better. Plus, the processing power comes in handy for editing videos on the go.
Another point that irks me, and that is common between what my dad says and what you also say, is classifying phones as "text machines". They are SO much more and even though I respect that you might be using it only for text and calls, it is important for people like you to realize that other people really depend on their smartphones. And I am talking productively, not just browse social media for hours on end.
Given your usage, I am sure that you cannot imagine HOW painful it is to be in a hurry to be somewhere while your Uber app takes 30 seconds to load. Or you really want to click that awesome pic but your smartphone has no space because oh, 16 GB is enough! Plus, that beautiful sunset that you wanted to capture with your significant other, is a steaming pile of garbage pixels.
Or you really want to send an email but your smartphone is so poorly designed that holding it a little differently can disconnect you from WiFi or cellular networks. And let's not even talk about gaming.
I had a pathetic $200 excuse off a phone about 4 years ago from Samsung. Swore off such phones for life. I would rather buy a flagship and use it for 3 years, all the while having an excellent experience, or if in a money crunch buy a year-old flagship. A big investment is always better than a small wastage.
P.S. These days you get much better phones for $200 and I think they would provide a good-enough experience. My opinion stands as it is though.

It's reversed.
The first and fourth Nexus have the most beautiful designs. The first and fourth Pixel have the ugliest.
Nexus One = gorgeous
Nexus 4 = gorgeous
Pixel = bleh
Pixel 4 = bleh

These cheap Google phones are worth less than 299$ nothing more, these are the worst phones in the universe
Used Pixel 2 ,looked so ugly,but paid big bucks for it,got RMAed, upset
Pixel is the worst phones to be built ever and they will forever remain a niche

Iphones are indeed good, their battery used to suck but fixed it in 11 and androids took a giant step back anytways when they sealed theirs.
I guess their camera is not the best (better camera phones) out there. So going for iPhone is not a wrong choice, then again phones are only marginally useful, so I don't know why would anyone pay a fortune on them. They are text machines it is all. Even $100 phones are good enough for that...

Only buy Android phones if you are on a budget.
Else always iPhone all the way.
I got burned by Note 4, Note 9. Never again. my iPhone 7 still rocks. I rather sell these worthless android phones for a new apple watch / iPads / Macs.
Pixel phone is no different. I was willing to give their Android wireless Auto a try. But ultimately FAILS badly vs Wireless CarPlay. Disconnect, DRAINS battery like no other despite having such large battery vs iPhone 7.. YES the small version of iPhone 7.
No good smartwatches. Soundhound on Apple watch works like a charm. One click one music identified don't even need to touch my iphone.. Good luck trying it on Android wear.

Pixel's phones always have disappointing battery life. Let's see if things improve this time.
I am also looking forward to the comparison review of the triple cameras between the iPhone 11 Pro and the Pixel 4.

Ahhh. These are so BAD! And I am using Pixel 2 XL! In terms of hardware/software/camera/battery, iPhone is far ahead. Even from the upcoming Pixel 4!
