1. I have never met a WhatsApp user. Met a lot of WeChat, Line and Facebook Messenger but never a WhatsApp user.
2. You know Facebook will keep a copy between 14-60 days for the government and analytics to see what type of messages are sent with expiration date.

It only deletes your own copy, nothing more. Facebook, or whoever owns WhatsApp, will still scrape and keep all your messages and hand over to government.
With American products, "privacy" and "secure" means private and secure from other people, not from the company, and not from their government.

Great, now i just need to find people using whatsapp and build a new friend circle of whatsapp users. Despite several long stays in asia over the last few years i have still not encountered any Whatsapp users, its quite weird since i met lots of LINE users.
Seems its safe to forget that whatsapp even exists.
