Microsoft re-enters the smartphone market with a bang.

Asking serious question here:
How many of you people use your phone as a productivity tool, rather than media consumption / communicator device?
I bet there are a few people who do just that, but everyone else treats phones like toys. To have fun and to communicate.

I think the Surface Duo could be a really interesting competition to Galaxy Note series, if only it had the pen hidden somehow in the body.

          That kind of device is possible because they push first productivity, not media consumption, unlike others that came before. No matter how thick is bezel, its about sw first, microsoft already got some experience with multiple screens working together, now they just need to get it better so its ready for use in tablets too.
          It may for now look as useful as any android phone, but microsoft will be sure to give it some unique features, not just in sw but in hw too.

            What about flexible displays? Microsoft comes in 2019 and wants to sell us a hinged rigid display as an innovation? That's ridiculous

              This one SEEMS efficiently executed foldable phone. Visually it appears like two iPad minis are hinged together with Android OS as it's software.

              It definitely appears better than hasty Samsung fold.

              Samsung, Huawei seem to be just trying to do something weird in the name of innovation. But it's nothing innovative.

              I was expecting something really promising from Motorola and Apple in terms of folded screen phone. Microsoft has turned out to be a pleasant surprise.

              As far as productivity is concerned, it has nothing to do with screen size ( folded ones or bezel less ones or notched ones or punch holes etc). This is largely dependent on how smart the user of the gadget is.

                ...surely, this device is exciting, bringing to new high level communication, entertainment and productivity device.. i am waiting Microsoft to own this one super smart phone!!!

                    This looks absolutely stunning. After a very long time, finally a product that is truly pushing technology for better use. Can't wait!
