seems to me not that much difference.
I also never understand overhype from youtubers about gcam crap
We, the normal people, don't care so much about detail, but care mostly about overall ease of use and good color.

Mate 30 Pro make a job in normal mode and good light which should do P30 Pro, but it doesnt - because engineers concentrated on zoom and night shots and neglected normal mode which we use the most... Agressive processing, sharpening etc. make that phone does worse photos than my old HTC 10 which have more softer edges and less noises. Still talking about photos in good conditions. Very disapointed at P30 Pro, but Mate did his homework.

But when it comes to overall quality, I do need to zoom in. Even at scaled down res, I still can see the details on a certain pic. If you are are sharp enough, you can see the P30 Pro's aggresive oversharpening at the car park pic. The Mate 30 Pro didn't have that.

I will rather look at the photos exposures, color saturation and their overall quality. Basically, I do not see real big improvements between Mate 30 Pro and P30 Pro cameras.

The Mate 30 Pro is unquestionably more detailed than the P30 Pro. Look at the car park pic, the P30 Pro overshapening is so d*mn obvious.

Not sure who's in charge of designing these products. Let's see, for a new flagship, how about: 1. we remove the 5x optical that everybody loves, 2. we make the ultrawide even more narrow, we were worse than Galaxy here so now we will be even more worse. These people need to be fired from the company immediately, because they display clear lack of logical thinking. Oh yeah, and let's make the back as ugly as possible.

Ofcourse the ultra wide is better on Mate 30 Pro.. its quite a bit less wide and will therefore always be sharper..

in my eyes, every comparison I've seen so far the P30 Pro has better images, and this is the case in this comparison as well, with the exception of ultrawide night mode where the mate 30 is superior.

Kinda strange how no review or comparison I read so far considered the 3x zoom a plus. Having a 5x optical lens means you have to go all the way up until 4,9x purely digital with your primary lens. For my personal use, I rarely even go above 5x, so do most users, I guess. Price or space arguments about the periscope inside a mate do not apply imho.
