How bad that Xiaomi scammed everyone with this phone's camera. It was supposed to have the same camera sensor as the Pixel 3... but most units don't. They just did a bait and switch and added a mediocre f/2.2 sensor in both 32 and 64 GB versions.

Essen, 10 Oct 2019Every Android OEM has a 100-phone range varying between 6.2... moreThere is a reason why almost all manufacturer are making phone of that size, demand. The market clearly shows that majority, probably over 90% prefer phone of that size. Make little sense for manufacturer to make something that probably can't even breakeven the investment, at least not for low end cheap phones. Premium phones are easier to breakeven with higher profit margin.

Heisenberg, 09 Oct 2019Absolutely, I had the same point. Everyone doesn't need a 6... moreEvery Android OEM has a 100-phone range varying between 6.2 to 6.7 inches. It's tiring. Surely, people aren't buying phones at the rate OEMs are putting them out. So it's imperative that there's always unsold stock of a phone even when its successor is on sale, which is then sold off at a discount. And where do all these discarded phones end up? If you have to crowd the market with rubbish, surely there has to be room for phones that can be used with one hand and doesn't make your pocket look like you are stealing a living room television.

I think they used the same chip on the 8A for efficiency, power efficiency that is. With 5000mah and a soc like this, it will take more than a day to drain the battery for sure.

Qimchi, 09 Oct 2019You'd be suprise at the price differences of the Note 7 and... morePrice (now) for Redmi Note 7 (4/64GB) is 150 euros, for Redmi 8 (4/64GB) 110 euros, but, soon, Redmi 8 price will be under 100 euros, and for that price, its good, it have lower price, evn noe, than Redmi 7 in same config.. On the other hand, there is now type c, even bigger battery, differente back camera sensor (363), little smaller phone, have gradient glass-like (it still plastic) look. But processor is clearly downgraded from 632 to 439, 439 is in Redmi 7a, and there ie cost cuting made.
