Had there been a suitable 11nm snapdragon processor between 439 and 660, Xiaomi would have had a choice. Would you rather have an appropriate Mediatek for Redmi 8 or the sd439? No matter where you look at it, the fabrication process was the main culprit on why sd439 was put in the Redmi 8.

The truth here is, for just $150 (approximately) today, the Redmi Note 7 with SD660, 48MP Samsung Bright GM1 sensor, FHD+ display is a much better overall deal to this, which leads to the main question of the majority: what's the purpose of making this offering?
I mean it's not bad in any way, but the existence of better products to this for roughly the same price makes this a questionable device.
It's fine if you think this is the best budget phone for you, but let's not be blinded by our delusions and accept the reality that you could be better off with others instead.
