Bare in mind that the UKs national average home broadband download speed is 18 mbs. So what u get and spend in India and when u convert it, probably seems more expensive than UK but it's way better value for money

Yes you can get around 150mbps to 200mbps broadband speed in India too. But for that you need to spend around 16.26 pound or 18.90 euro per month.

I'm using ZenFone 6 and I'm on Vodafone UK and in my house I can pull 150MB download speed. That's 3 times faster than my home broadband speed

But I am using Airtel and Vodafone. 4G speed of Airtel is around 2 to 5 mbps in my city and 4G speed of Vodafone is around 1.5mbps. I don’t know about jio. So, you should not measure whole internet speed of India in the name of jio.

                So far so good.
Here in Slovakia many people have O2 because they are a lot better,

[deleted post]Yeah, but what's the speeds like though. I know 4G and 5G are a big difference but an Indian network I know called Jio, their 4G download speeds are disgusting. UK and India are very different when it comes to mobile phones plans, let me explain.

In UK you can get a phone contract where you're paying for the phone and the sim for 24 months or you can get a sim only where you're just paying for the service provider( this is usually for 12 months). Whichever one you go for you get a certain monthly allowance, 99% of UK plans come with Unlimited text and Mins, data can range from 500mb- Unlimited (uncapped) . If you just want a sim only deal you pay £25 a month and get that you unlimited mins, text and 50Gb data you get per month for 12 months.

In India, you can get a 5GB a day pack which last for 28 days which over the month is 140GB, that costs 800 INR which is £8.73 which sounds fantastic, what isn't fantastic is the download speed... 64Kbps... Someone correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that half the speed of 3G, not sure if it is or if 3G is between 64-128 Kbps, regardless of whether it is or not, that's still very bad. I dread to think that the latency and bandwidth is like

thada2607, 17 Oct 2019To people that complain it's expensive, it's 5G, a massive ... morePeople don't realise it's only because 5G is new and it's the next generation of mobile networking. Remember when EE was the first to launch 4G in the UK, they were charging £36 a month for 500mb (can't remember if that was a phone contract or sim only deal) and if you go over your allowance, they charged £3 for 50MB to £20 for 4GB...

For those who don't realise how little 500MB is. If you stream a 1 hour TV program on BBC iplayer (For example Peaky Blinders) using your mobile data, you've consumed 225MB data. So just from One tv program, you've used almost half your data.

UK is very crowded so prices are high to compensate for that.

Uk has expensive phone plans here $10

To people that complain it's expensive, it's 5G, a massive speed jump from 4G, you expect its cost to be just a little higher than 4G? It will get cheaper over time.

Jessy, 17 Oct 2019Oh my god. 5G is running now...big news. Im expecting in in... moreNo operators in India are launching 5g just yet. The 5G auctions will be in 2021, and maybe Jio might take a year to upgrade in all the major cities. Getting it in the villages will be a problem, because of the higher frequency bands.
