The Note 10 suffers from serious ergonomics when it comes to unlocking your phone. I used to have an S9 plus, before and the fingerprint worked like a charm. Unlocked the phone in a jiffy. The note 10 unlocking is just painfully irritating, does not unlock in an instant, as you need to place your thumb in the exact location on the blank screen. So now i need to turn on the screen to know where to place my thumb. The other issue, you need to press harder, and even after that, the failure rate is about 3 attempts in 10. Its a big disappointment when you want to open your phone immediately. Miss the finger print at the back.
The other issue thats plaguing me is the sound quality when you are on call. They left little room for the earpiece speaker and the sound now somewhat flows through the glass of the phone and is irritating aswell. Its not something that sounds crystal clear.
Otherwise its a wonderful phone. But Samsung should take note. They need to introduce smoother unlocks and make sure the in-sound quality is best for such a premium device. Even if it means putting sensors and taking real estate on the front screen, something that apple still has remaining with their notch.

Btw they asked users to stop using silicon covers on the display side of the phone since anyone would be able to get in to the phone. And also it's not like someone can get access to a S10 just by using a silicon case, you have to register a fingerprint (if you really think about it, it's the fingerprint of the case that gets registered) after installing the silicon case covering the display. So normal users aren't at danger.

LOL, Samsheeps (just borrowing the term) are just the worst. These excuses are worst than the "you are holding it wrong" excuse from apple.
Cheap chinese phones like the Mi 9T, realme X, oneplus, honor have optical finger print readers working on them with no problem even with $1 display covers on them while the herd are here giving excuses for their brand.

I doubt an update would make these cases usable.
Certain technologies have some limitations. A gel protector, in theory, would affect the accuracy of the scanner even if it's able to get through the gel layer.

I found it more diffcult to scan finger on my new Note 10 plus than my previous s8 plus , while it request to press harder and harder at lease 3 times or more to each unlock.????? i worry someday may be my screen push down by scanning harder press..., love the way of my old s8pluse , fast and easy position.

Surfer, 19 Oct 2019Agreed.This is a really good comment. It's totally wierd that they can't just keep a fingerprint unlock at the BACK where it actually works better. It takes more effort unlocking on the screen than sliding your thumb over one on the BACK which is the best place for one!

I'm sorry.. But this isn't anything to do with Samsung (or Qualcomm who actually make this).. it's to do with silly cheap screen protectors which is up to the individual if they use this.. and therefore should use password entry into the phone. I've had my S8+ since launch and i don't even use the iris scanner anymore.. it is great, but i don't really like the idea of my eye being blasted every time i want to unlock my phone. Point is.. i never had a screen protector.. They are useless. They look horrible. I have a phone 2.5 years and my screen is perfectly fine save for the tiny hairline marks that are normal after a few years. It's a little much trying to keep a screen absolutely perfect for years.. one never used and never will need to use a silly screen protector

Thats why Samsung is stupid to give up their IRIS / face scanner for this unproven tech.
To create punch holes that irritate their users. And removing jacks.
Look at Samsung screen protectors now.. with that silly circle cutout for the fingerprint scanning place. Looks so dumb and silly.
Now they want people to stop using screen protectors all together? GG.. better give up on this tech NOW or never.
