They dont make the OP system to run on 4 different cpu brands. They do it for only apple OS. Android is made to run on everything as open source and not like Apple op system that is closed ecosystem to work only for specially designed hardware.

You apple people seem to forget that android run on 1000+ different devices while IOS is only for iphone and ipad
It takes 1000 times less work to support 3 phones a year versus other companies that use android for there 20+ phones a year like Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo and so on

It doesn't make sense why a dysfunctional GPS due to software that has not been updated can be more than a nuisance in old iOS devices. The consequences for not updating (given Apple has a history of slowing down devices after updates) shouldn't be catastrophic.
For Apple to suggest older iPhones/iPads that haven't been updated may experience crippling disabilities - permanently wrong dates and times, no more iOS software updates, no more appstore or app updates and no more cloud sync, rendering the device practically useless, defies logic.
It seems to me Apple has this planned all along from the start (planned obsolescence) or that Apple just makes plain sloppy iOS software that is so crippled that when one portion fails, the entire software experience crumbles down rendering the device practically unusable.
It only means that by hook or by crook, you'll have to throw away and replace your old iPhone or iPad. Don't update and it will possibly become a paperweight. Update and you'll likely have it turning into crawling, stuttery mess because your old device doesn't have newer hardware to cope up with the new software.
Either way Apple indirectly pushes you to replace your old device and they'll have some logical excuse all ready so class suits against them won't prosper.

i do not want my ipad updated to new ios. you forced update on my android phone (about one year old) and totally screwed up my phone! trying to avoid update on ipad! stop it!

The beauty in all this being Apple ensures all devices old and new are updated, certain other phone makers using a certain other OS cannot even keep 2-3 year old devices updated, LOL.
