Guys, the firmware has updated,, its great, fast and speedy, looks and feels better than GB, Touchwiz kind of messes it up, but we could see ics vanilla update in the future.

Big Boy, 19 Mar 2012It is from week starting 19th not on the 19th, So calm down... moreIf you'd been waiting for USB Host support, like me, for the last few months then it really is a big deal. The Samsung Gingerbread version on SGS2 is seriously limited, with only kernel mode support for additional disc drives connected to the USB Host port, nothing more. No support for Chainfire DSLR Controller or anything else that uses USB to it's full potential, these things are all unsupported. Samsung in their infinite wisdom decided to remove all USB Host API access and other usefull stuff from their Gingerbread ICS ROM, which to most, was an INSANE decision. ICS fixes this with in built support for a whole lot more USB Host possibilities, so maybe we will see an increase of decent USB Host software, maybe even more audio and video ralated stuff on Google Play and other Android based software markets. This will be a great relief for stock ROM users. This USB Host functionality is apparently implemented in a slightly different manner to how it was in previous Android versions, which in turn makes it difficult to totally remove with satisfactory and acceptable results. Not everyone wants or needs root access, which at present, is mandatory for USB Host API access. I certainly don't want my phone opened to abuse and neither do a whole load more users who don't want to experiment with their device and in turn, ultimately their security and privacy. I, as many other people, just want things properly implemented. Many people just don't understand why the "roll-out" has to be so damned slow. There's absolutely no technical reason for it and certainly no reason to have ROMs that have already passed testing sitting on a waiting list on servers for different European areas. The "roll-out" process, as many people agree, is archaic and totally unnecessary in this supposedly "unified" day and age.

Still no update through Kies! Rebooted, reloaded, updated, nothing! CPW I9100, no network lock, generic... Seems that the release for CPW devices is delayed, again, like before! Let's hope it doesn't take months like Gingerbread for the SGS2, this would really hack people of bigtime. Poor show Samsung/CPW, Unimpressed is an understatement! :-(

ICS is not that different from GB to really crave for. if fact samsung knows this, thats why its not that enthusiastic in updating. It knows we love good hardware and freedom lovers. if we were too keen on software, we would have been 'apple folk'.

                          Vodafone
Vodafone has also confirmed that it's received the update from Samsung, and told TechRadar it is hopeful of rolling out the Ice Cream Sandwich update in double quick time:

"The Android 4.0 upgrade for Galaxy S2 smartphones running on the Vodafone UK network is currently under test to make sure that we provide the highest level of final software. As soon as the tests are completed we will upload the software to the update servers as quickly as possible.

                          O2
O2 has now confirmed it is working on the Galaxy S2 Ice Cream Sandwich update, but it won't be rolling it out to customers until mid-April. Disappointing O2, disappointing.

Update: An O2 spokesperson has informed TechRadar that the Samsung Galaxy S2 Ice Cream Sandwich update "will be before the end of March, not mid-April". That's more like it!

                          T-Mobile
T-Mobile is looking to keep Galaxy S2 customers sweet, as it promises to roll out the Ice Cream Sandwich update as soon as possible after the March 19 date.

A T-Mobile spokesperson said: "We're working to make our build available as close to Samsung's release date as possible."

                          Orange and more
As you've probably guessed, TechRadar has thrown aside its copy of Horse and Hound and poured all its efforts into finding out when the rest of the networks will be dropping the update - when we know, you'll know (after we've spent time writing it up. It's not an automatic process, you know).

I think we should all just chill out for a bit and Stop looking at whether its available (i know its difficult not to) and cool down.

When they will seed the update, Samsung will make a big deal over it, so you're Ofcourse going to find out.
