For everyone who is waiting for original ICS update from Samsung, u r sure going to be disappointed. No flavor of ICS whatsoever apart from the task manager and face unlock(which again not great for practical usage). Lower benchmark scores, slow and buggy than stable GB builds available. XXPLQ huge disappointment, not even the Blue ICS look, stupid old Touchwiz on ICS?? C'mon Sammy.. Huge disappointment. Now wait for ICS CM9 stable for SII. impressed with Nightly builds

Hello all
Do not be so excited. This ICS is verry buggy and slower thatn GB
No animated panel switch
No ICS gallery
Interface form old GB
Im verry disapponinted.
No revolution at all.
This is for me 2.4.0 not 4.0.3
I think this ICS is a joke

corben, 13 Mar 2012I wanted to know,if someone can answer me. I have a Galaxy ... moreHey Corben,
it does not matter where you are, if your mobile is from U.K., the update will be made available to you here in Mauritius via KIES. It will automatically select the country of origin as this feature is rooted in the software itself.
If it is a network-branded mobile like 3, the update will be made available by 3 itself after it has made the custom changes to the interface to include the 3 applications or software. Again, it will be made available to you on KIES via 3.
Of course, there are other solutions like rooting your device and/or installing custom ROMs. But, this is user dependent. While some prefer the official updates, others can try their luck with custom ROMs. The risk of bricking your device is fairly high if you don't know how to do it.
I would simply ask you to be patient with the device's update as sooner or later, you will get it. Just enjoy the Gingerbread before you go for the Ice Cream Sandwich...
