Anonymous, 22 Oct 2019LOL.. So untrue.. Android can work with just 1 GB of ram.. ... moreThe truth is Android doesn’t do ram management. Unlike iOS which uses savestates, Android just keeps the app open because it can’t do otherwise. That’s why there are so many useless services running when you check your Android.
So no. It’s not like a ferrari. It’s just companies being lazy and selling numbers to people like you.

I'm not sure that Lightning would be such a bad thing in 2020 - just take a look at the mess when you try to find a way through the gazillion of USB-C options. This needs voltage X, that will require Y.y watts...

One very valid point mentioned in the comments above is the lightening port.
If not for that, i'd totally get this phone as I absolutely HATE the large 6" 6.5" 7" hogs becoming all the rage.
Much prefer a sub 70mm width phone. However, seems the first iPhone to get the Type C will be the iPhone 12 :-(

The smartphones to watch for next year...
Microsoft Surface Duo
Google Pixel 5
Apple iPhone 12 Pro ("5.4) & SE2 ("4.7)
Samsung Galaxy Fold 2, S11, Note11
The sleeper is the announcement of the new Motorola RAZR. It could be released this year but wouldn't be popular until next year like the original RAZR because popular in 2005 although released in late-2004. I'm not interested in any Chinese like Huawei and Xiaomi. Well, maybe the Mi Mix Alpha but not for price they're asking. My sights are really set for Microsoft's Android phone.

Many people who bought the original SE was because of the superior design and most importantly, size. It wasn't mostly because of price. The "4.7 6/7/8 design still isn't compact enough for alot of people. The SE was also the last to offer a headphone jack and physical home button.
I do think getting an A13 chip for $399 is still an incredible deal. But I just don't see this SE2 becoming that popular. Many SE owners want their SE X. They want the same design of the X but with the same physical dimensions of the original SE.
The SE2 will not age well and should be discounted to $200 within 15 months. The smart money is to wait on the "5.4 iPhone. That's basically the same dimensions of the 6/7/8 but without the home button. That's the SE2 that many original SE owners want but in a smaller package.

Anonymous, 22 Oct 2019LOL.. So untrue.. Android can work with just 1 GB of ram.. ... moreApple do what is required to achieve an overall great phone. Those specs you say is built upon and improve. Display is not only about resolution, its also about calibration, you can see clearly from third party iphone display vs OEM.. the third party replacement suck.
Android only focus for bragging rights, hardly any improvements and limited by its OS. Its like that 500hp Ferrari lockdown to a speed limit of 40 mhp road..

The SE2 isn't the iPhone to get in 2020. Wait for the rumored "5.4 iPhone 12 with USB-C. It should be the same size. You don't want to be stuck with the home button, Lightning port, and 3 GB of RAM for the next few years.
An SE2 that looks like an iPhone 8 doesn't appeal to me like an 6s inside a 5s body appealed to me 3.5 years ago. The 5s actually had a beautiful design. The 6/7/8 design was bland.

Considering the current iPhone 11 is ~$400 more expensive, I wonder what corner Apple cut to an A13 device at $399.
