Updated my Sensation to ICS on Thursday night. A bit buggy and slow at first, but I'm really pleased with the new OS now the device seems to have got to grips with it. The folder system on home screens has improved 200% and browsing speed is a lot quicker. Yet to see how battery life is affected but I'm happy so far. (Vodafone UK)

EVO4Guser_wantingICS, 20 Mar 2012ok, what about if your phone is rooted? Will there be any s... moreCustom ROMs will be around and might be a good alternative, however, since it is not created by HTC use it at your own risk.

For phones which have lower-end hardware, even if a custom ROMs provides you with ICS, you may see a lot of performance issues such as lagging, auto restart of phone.
Anyway if one is competence to use Custom ROMs, they probably know what they are doing already.

Anonymous, 15 Mar 2012HTC is responsible therefore ICS is only roll out to phones... moreok, what about if your phone is rooted? Will there be any stock, rooted ICS versions out there?
Or other ROMs, like Cyanogen or Mik or Vaelpak ROMs with it?

I have to ask. Does the update adds the Beat Audio enchancement as well to phones like EVO 3D or Desire HD? Just curious. ;)

The difference between Desire Z and Desire HD is their target audience, for Desire Z they are targeting corporate executive which does not required high processing power for multimedia, therefore they phone uses less powerful processor running at 800Mhz. Where Desire HD was targeting at Youth, which runs more multimedia application therefore a 1Ghz processor was used. Since ICS required a 1GHz processor, Desire HD actually barely met the hardware requirement, where Desire Z is not. As such it is a logical decision to let Desire Z to have a miss for ICS.

Even if phones are being release at the same time with the same price point, it will still have difference specifications.

No desire z update for ics not even the latest gingerbread updates. Not impressed my next phone will not be a HTC. Good work in losing business.

amel, 15 Mar 2012As usual htc is very slow on ics effort. They dont really k... moreit's still better than any other brand i think
                                    LG really suck at update
same goes for samsung..they only update their flagship phone and newer phone

how generous of HTC to update old phones such DHD or Desire S and droid icredible and htc thunderbolt

                                    that's what i think
no offense for other brand though:D
