Its all about the phones dimensions not the screen but the smaller the dimensions the better, on a 4.5inch screen. 4.2inch is the ideal screen size though.

I prefer middled sized ones. I think 3.7 inches is good for me, such as the sony ericsson xperia neo which fits exactly in my hand and pockets. Anyways, everyone has his own taste...

Ideal size 3.7 to 4 inches. Best for viewing / weight / comfort / ease in carrying.

Any size bigger than GS2 will be too big to handle. It's good to have big screen but not big size phone.

I'll go for a larger screen size. Samsung Galaxy Note is among my preferred sizes. Another reason is that you don't necessarily need to use your reading glasses to be able to use the set.

I have a Nokia N8 from 18 months ago. Weight and thickness was a real issue for me between choosing this and the heavier HTC Desire HD as I wanted to be able to slip it in and out of my jeans pocket easily and to be able to sit down comfortably. I have no regrets about my decision, but I will be looking for a 4 to 4.3 inch phone, thin and relatively light. Top of my current choices are the Galaxy S2 and the HTC One S (the One X is too big).

I guess 4.5 is the best, but on the other hand there are not so many devices with 4.5.we have lots of 4.3,or 4.7(that is a little too much for me)

Galaxy Nexus Screen. Not too small, and not too big. Well at least for me.

For me, the ideal screen size is 3.7"-4.5" But I would like to use a 4.3" screen. For me, 4.0" is a bit small

For Me...Ideal screen size is 4 inches. I have both T-Mobile Galaxy S 4G and Galaxy S II with massive 4.5 inches screen. I find using my older phone easier andit is pocket friendly too. And Yes, the SuperAMOLED display
is simply gorgeous...

And where the heck was such a study when there were no phones with the screen size > 1.5" or 2.0" ??? Certainly these studies are plain stupid and may prove valid only in the current context, if at all !! Things keep changing... I have spica, galaxy s, lumia 800 and galaxy note... each has different screen sizes and serves different purposes and Im very with those all. Note's screen size once called a joke is going mainstream now.
So the bottom line - use a screen size which works great for you... may be 5yrs down the road we come to see phones with flexible screen size > 7" (flexible amoleds anyone?)
