Good riddance.
They promised too much with the first one, cut many corners, and had many delays. When they were releasing it, they realised how crappy it truly was. I remember. They tried to stop people from getting full-refunds, saying if they stayed they would get a second unit for free. See kids this is why you don't preorder anything.... can't trust companies, wait for the release and credible independent third-party reviews.
And as a message to other companies out there, learn from your competitor's mistakes. The first launch product is likely the most important one, as if you launch a great device, you not only generate a lot more revenue. But you build a fan following, developer/enthusiast support, company sponsorship, and attain more useful feedback to improve things for subsequent iterations. If you launch a bad product, you can lose a lot of money and have to cancel the program for subsequent iterations. Even if finances were stable, you miss out on getting useful (non-obvious) feedback, you're likely to burn your hardcore fans and wane interest from other companies/partnerships.
Case in point, Windows10 Mobile back in 2016 was actually good. It was the full desktop Windows10 Pro Operating System, but it was optimised for mobile phones and tablets. However, Microsoft didn't release this back in 2009. They barely launched in 2011 which was truly "too late" but what they launched, was a weird ecosystem and operating system that was more in-line with Windows CE and Windows Mobile, rather than desktop Windows7. To make matters worse, they needed to do a Ecosystem-Reset with Windows Phone 8.1 later in 2014 to the new Kernel/Base. That was the nail in the coffin, and Microsoft has conceded defeat and is shutting down the entire ecosystem at the end of 2019. Now just imagine, had Microsoft launched either Windows Phone 8.1 (Desktop Windows 8 Base) or Windows10 Mobile (Full Desktop Windows10 Pro), and had they launched that back in early-2010, how much different their ecosystem and their circumstances would have been!!

Whackcar, 25 Oct 2019I don't think it would be fair to dismiss that phone for it... moreThey are pushing "Pro" video. The 3 was supposed to get the 8kp30 enhancements too. But the point was, that the panasonic mentioned did something like 15fps at 4k as well, which doesn't make the 3 with a relatively large chip and 8k that good either.

Anonymous, 25 Oct 2019Like the red magic 3, 8k, still at 15fps as well?I don't think it would be fair to dismiss that phone for it's camera capabilities. You see, the Hydrogen One, and Nokia 9 were marketed as camera-centric phones with strong photo/video experience, and they both totally failed to deliver on those aspects.
On the other hand, the Red Magic 3 was a gaming phone, and it's camera capabilities were secondary features. So i think the Red Magic 3 was a decent phone for it's intended audience. The same cannot be said for those other two phones.

I couldn't place it at first, but that's where Huawei got its inspiration from for the Mate 30 series.

Hydrogen One was a joke, just like Nokia 9. There was nothing to like about that phone. It was an overpriced, under-performing, and gimmickry phone. It won't be missed.
Now, if we talk about Panasonic CM1 instead, that camera-phone is dearly missed. I would really love to see a successor to that phone. Biggest sensor on a phone ever.

RED's only relevant to YouTubers who rent them. I thought they'll bring 4K movies in CDs with RED-Ray while Blu-Ray is stuck in 1080p. 4K Resolution = RED.
I guess they're not as hotshot as I thought they would be. They even have a current controversy about their proprietary storage.
