LZPlay uses Huawei's own enterprise API to gain the system level privilege and install Google Play Services, but the API itself is not publicly announced and app requires to go through thorough inspection by Huawei to use it. This is exactly the same method that other Chinese companies use (e.g. Meizu) to let users install Google Play Services manually, and while it has a potential to be used to install malware, so far there has been no report that such an incident has taken place. Since this kind of API usually requires an app inspection every time the app gets updated in order to be used, it shouldn't really pose a security risk anyway. The app itself was taken down only because it would cause some legal issues between Huawei and Google if Huawei had kept allowing this app to exist even though they had no official licence from Google, not because it was "unsafe", and while it certainly uses the backdoor API to do its job, it does not create one.

2. All right, I was misunderstanding that part. My apology. There seems to be a top-selling retailer with extremely good reputation installing Google Services beforehand in AliExpress, I guess those people on the internet got the phone from them.

They are all the same, gathering informations to get more money in the future. The only solution to be completely out is not to use any app connected to Net.. And kicking out of the market Huawei all the way around just becuase of stupid US is not the right way. We already have problems with telling the truth and not be prosecuted.. think a bit what you talking. It goes for "our" future. What if Samsung is next? What is Nokia is next, who also selling 5g equipment.. Do you want one company at the control everything? You must be from US and big fan of CNN etc. Grow up

Buying this phone to use as a google android phone is a bit pointless, get another one instead if requiring google apps like that person did. Google Pay to be more specific.

Corrected.

                      Too bad no local telecom provider wants to carry this phone. This is going to be a hard sell without the subsidy of a telecom provider.
